Weird XP problem...
Ok I got this fuckin weird bug on my computer (I run winxp pro). Here's the thing: Everything was running smooth, I wasn't doing anything special, when suddently, the computer froze (shit happens!)... then my taskbar and all the icons on my desktop were gone...So I restarted the computer and things were slow as shit, and the icons and taskbar still weren't there...(every program that loads at startup didn't load...ICQ, MSN etc...). I still see the wall paper, but that's it! No icons, no task bar, doesn't do anything when I rightclick on the desktop.
Since everything was so damn slow, I did a ctrl+alt+delete to bring the taskmanager and I saw that this process: explorer.exe was taking 98% of CPU usage...so I ended the process...the lag stopped, but there's still no icon or anything...I can use all my programs if I start'em with the Run command (or by pressing new task in the taskmanager), but NO FUCKING DESKTOP, ICONS OR TASKBAR! WTF??? Could this be a virus?? I'm pretty sure the problem is with explorer.exe process...but what could it be, anyone could clue me in? :helpme
