Ok I return to univeristy for 2 more years and want to get a new car, its not going to be used much so not looking to spend too much.

Roughly about $20k (I am in UK though)...

don't want a big car like an estate... i was looking at the VW Golf any other suggestions... something sporty looking perhaps..

JamesK 09-26-2003 09:23 AM

u will fucking freeze in UK , i was close to buying the Z3 few years ago... a Lexus would be nice though.

Hows biz cheeky? ur wanna sell out to me yet? Also u heard about the other networks that are selling up ?

Darren 09-26-2003 02:57 PM

is there a place in the uk that sales cars that are not standard eg a golf with some work done to it , like the toyota above the standard version is nice but everyone as it i would prefer something like the above eg some work already done on it.

Softtops in the Uk aren't that bad, just not good for winter. Them little fabric roofs keep the heat in quite nice. But no point in buying a drop top when you look silly with it down and your scarf on shivering. That's why I'm definitely going to wait until early next year.

Business is going good matey. And yes, if you make me a good offer without wanting to know every detail up front (we are competitors) then I will defo consider it. I actually emailed you on this subject, no reply from ya so I guess the email got killed somewhere along the way.

I've not heard about the other networks no, I'd love to hear about that though. Who's selling?

Not sure what you can do with a Golf without looking like a 17 year old boy racer. I guess Max Power magazine might have some ad's in it but I'd spend a bit more and get a better car, keep it standard and you'll still look sweet for the ladies :glugglug

candyflip 09-27-2003 11:24 AM

I'm a VW fan. This one here is 3rd Gen (Gen 5 is about to come out this fall). You can find something like this, with the V6 all decked out for about $12k US. There are more of them in Europe, so I'm sure you'd be able to find a similar one there.

massive safety issue on that car... know so many people who have been injured badly because of way it crushes up.

the Honda Civic is nice though

brutus 09-27-2003 01:11 PM

106 is a bit of a woman's car. Get a second hand 306 if you're going peugeot, more manly and don't crunch up so bad.

307's explode. It was on watchdog.

ICQ makes me feel dirty, I don't like it and don't like to use it.

Yahoo messenger makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside but no biz people use it, just spotty teenagers and sad unemployed fucks that like to boot ya.

I will try and ICQ you some time matey.

BlueDesignStudios 09-28-2003 02:26 AM

I'm not sure how cold it is in the UK (very cold I guess) - but I just got myself a motorbike - been driving nonstop since I got it, hardly use my car anymore, it's a lot of fun - if you live not to far away from uni, I'd suggest a bike. And if the weather's good :)

Which Uni btw?

Old folk's car? that will pull the chicks, or shall I say the milfs :1orglaugh
Personally I would never again buy a new car! Let somebody else sit in that stinking new plastic box and lose money hand over fist - something well serviced, 2-3 years young and low milage will cost you not much more than 1/2 pice of a new one.

TheViper 09-28-2003 04:26 AM

LOL

That peugeot 106 is a car you don't step in to, but one you pull on :1orglaugh

Ross 09-28-2003 05:05 AM

If you're looking to spend $20K on a car in Britain then thats only around £12.5K

You won't get a golf for that price unless its used! Golf GTI's start from around £15K

For £12.5K you can get a nice MG ZR, MGTF, Vauxhall Astra SRI or just got for a used car.....

Darren,

Mazda 3 is out.
Take it away. I think it is much better than TypeR, or any other vehicle below $20k. Cars start at $35k+ :1orglaugh

Mercedes forever.

Sexzity 09-28-2003 05:18 AM

Peugeot 206 RC or 307 CC.

you are in the UK...just get a travel card :)

Honestly, I used to work for Hyundai doing customer service. Their cares are inexpensive and in two years of work I had five complaints. Most of my calls were from people wanting to know where we recommended they go to buy another one.

My mother in law has an Accent and they are about 9 to 10K but their coupe which is their sporty car is between 14 and 19k

V reg mint condition elise silver 16K here at my local garage. Nice car, great to drive. No security or safety features - no airbags or even ABS. Still, I'd have one.
