What HTML Editor Do You Use?
I've been using frontpage 98 for years now and I think it's time to switch it up...
Designers, what would you reccommend? Is there any good new software thats come out in the past couple years? I need something that outputs some nice clean code, my programmers always note how messy my frontpage code is. |
DW MX, hands down.
vi ... I like the search and replace features when I change sponsors.
Agreed, dreamweaver is the way to go.

However I do most of my work in Homesite |
Yep, go with Dreamweaver. Frontpage is nasty :ak47:
notepad never messes up code!
notepad
Edit plus 2 rocks
Front Page 2002......I've never used anything but Front page.....obviously I'm not known for my designs :(
AOLpress. seriously. :helpme
Hyperedit
Homesite Macromedia :thumbsup
Who the heck uses Frontpage? The code is a mess and totally bloated, and not even cross-compatible. Ick.
Dreamweaver all the way. I started on Homesite, but I liked the wyswig in DW better. |
notepad and white out
only note pad and explorer for visual preview
DW MX
thats the way...:thumbsup |

I use 1st Page 2000. No BS, just straight code that can be previewed in its own little browser. And the price is right: FREE. |
I use CoffeeCup.
no problems with it, and it is WYSYG. costs about $90 maybe $100 tops. never changed code or affiliates codes. :thumbsup |
TextPad is handy.
Homesite 90% of the time and Dreamweaver 10%
dreamweaver
Dreamweaver Ultradev, cant stand that new MX garbage they put out.
bow down to the might DW :thumbsup
EditPlus rules! :thumbsup

vi or jEdit (www.jedit.org), mostly jEdit since I can never remember all the vi commands. |
notepad and editplus.

Just got dreamweaver mx 2004, looks like it has some nice editing features and I bet that it handles html a whole lot cleaner than normal MX but it doesn't give me enough editing area on a 1024x768 monitor. I like to use 17inch monitors cause thats what most of our customers use and also 2004 is quite a lot slower than normal MX. I think i'll use a bit of both. I guess I should upgrade to duel 19inch panels some time.

Macromedia Homesite is the way to go!
My work would take twice the time if I'd use notepad. |
vim with RUBY
Notepad :thumbsup
DW MX... the only thing to use IMHO.
nutpad
Homesite & Notepad :thumbsup :winkwink:

If you work on linux I recommend to you Anjuta and Quanta . Tabbed editors with sintax highlight.
The finest on linux :) |
dreamweaver mx is the shit, been using dreamweaver for more than 3 years
I actually use the freebie version of Cute HTML.
notepad
notetab lite for search & replace |

real men use notepad
Dreamweaver for the main parts and Ultra Edit for hard coding stuff or editing CGI and PHP. Dreamweaver has trouble with scripts!
I mostly use Homesite 5.5, but it's crashy as shit. Especially the FTP part.
EditPlus is great, but lacks all the table wizards & stuff that Homesite has. Phpcoder is also pretty nice |
