Fuck Capitalism.
What pants are left that are made in the USA? |
Well in Australia a pair of LEVI will cost over $100 where a pair cut same made in asia will cost $30 that is why.
|
Can't blame them for moving away from the states. It's still a business.
When they shut down a plant in northern Texas a few years back, Levi Strauss showed a lot of class. They gave all of their employees enough money to purchase a computer and enough money to either get an associates degree or start a business. |

We hardly make anything here anymore...all we do is sell shit made from somewhere else to each other.
We are now in a service economy...the bubble will burst eventually....you can have only so many wharehouse sized krispy kreme donut shops. |

If it was not so sadly accurate - that would be funny! Truth is there is a war going on in the world - and it's got little to do with Iraq - tho that helped it escalate one hell of a load. Tis an ecomomic war where the "rich" countries, North America and Europe blah are being rejected by the others cos they are tired of simply being suppliers of cheap/slave labor so us "rich folks" can sit in comfort on our asses and discuss shit like Levi's while they starve. There was a blunt introduction to how "third world" countries feel at the Cancun WTO meeting - basically they said "this is how it's not going to be" and that was the meeting over. But tis a pity Levi's are "escaping" the US, but not a surpise - there is gonna be plently more unfortunately. Good things don't last forever.... |

That's how the free market's meant to work isn't it?
Comes with the territory. Unless you want to start introducing protectionism. |
