Paging Brad Shaw - Look [PIC]

Hey'a Brad, we went fishing on Sunday and I was the guest on Danny's boat and we did some night fishing on the intercoasta lway..around 8PM he hooked bubba for a 30 min fight that took us all over the channel....

A 38 inch redfish we guess weighed 20-25 lbs.

All I caught that night was a 24 inch Snook and had to release because it was 2 inches undersized, couple of mangrove snappers and a 16" flounder.

Getting boat fixed now and will be back into the waters within 10 days. Boat has been broke since July 2nd and Isabel and TS Henri has caused the tarpon and red fishing to be off the hook!

Last night a 67 ft yaght capsized at Ponce Inlet, was jammed into the jetties, a 1.4 million vessel and now he has the cost of the cranes and all the mess to salvage the pieces...

The Ponce Inlet is one of the 7 most deadliest inlets and I had no idea, so I am done sailing the inlet in a 15 ft waterski boat.

Week before a 31 foot yaght went 60 degrees up and tossed a boy and the captain off their boat in the inlet.

The fish are slamming here, and hope to have some pics in the coming weeks.

damn.

Mike AI 09-25-2003 11:17 AM

Nice fish Lee....

What lb line was it caught with?

Last time I went out, I caught this bad boy.

http://www.marshninja.com/red/red1.jpg

http://www.marshninja.com/red/red2.jpg

Little smaller then yours, I think it was about 34 inchs...

BUT I caught him on 10lb test line! :Graucho

Peaches 09-25-2003 11:18 AM

Dang, Lee! That fish is bigger than my boat! Heck, it's bigger than my lake, lol! :)

LeeNoga 09-25-2003 11:21 AM

WooHOO MikeAI! Beautiful red babee! Congrats!

We are only allowed to keep reds 18-27 inches, and this bull red was so tired from the fight, Danny caught her on 12lb test line and a shrimp, we were drifting along the banks and she hit it and then we had to start the engines and follow the fish.

I revived her and let her rest while I aerated her, and she did swim off in the darkness, there was a moment where I thought she was gonna float and die....she was so tired.

She was HUGE and chubby and had a ton of spots...just gorgeous!

Mike AI 09-25-2003 11:26 AM

Lee we are allowed to keep 1 Red over 18 inchs a day. She made a lot of nice filets, and was tasty....

If I would have had my camera in the boat, I probably would have released the fish.

The fight was exciting, took about 25 minutes - I had to get Tim to climb over a damn to unhook the line which got caught up on a piling.... I thought I was going to lose her...

I really need to get back on the water.... too much work and not enough fishing!

foe 09-25-2003 11:26 AM

I went to acapulco half a year ago or so, caught a fish over 140 pounds, ill have pics up later. Dont have them here.

Bull reds are the best fight, and they know how to break off the line. What did you catch her on, bait wise?

I almost broke off my snook, was fishing at total dark around these peoples dock lights, saw the water boiling, threw a line and he took it. First thing he did was run to the piling and I was scraping but got him back out. Just bought some spider wire line to give me more edge next time I catch one near obstacles.

I went to an inshore fishing class at Boaters World and a charter Captain gave the class, and he was saying using plastics is the way to go.

You ever fish with plastics Mikie?

So I have my 1/4 oz jigheads and plastics and will try his methods out, he should know he puts ppl on fish 7 days a week offshore and inshore or does not get paid. He has his customers throwing plastics.

I been going nuts not fishing, and its making me nuts, so I am real fond of catching black drum now, and we have this hole that produces over the oyster beds.....

We are allowed to keep one red a day and we tend to see worms in the red bull ones, so its best to eat the ones in the slot, the smaller they are the more tastie so they say,

I love eating reds! I am so jealous of you and those fillets!

Mike AI 09-25-2003 11:38 AM

Lee we use plastics a lot. There are so many choices....

I caught this red on a live shrimp, on a jig head, under a cork.... shallow water - near the grass.

I am going to be back in Florida mid October for a month, we should try to line up a fishing trip! I have never fished in Fl!

jonesy 09-25-2003 11:40 AM

Lee and Mike

Nice to see some web entrepreneurs into fishing.

Maybe there should be a Porn Fishing Club?

lee are you in s fla?

what about your mike?

ive been catching some huge snook and tarpon way inland, in the neighborhood of holiday park/west broward areas.

Im talking 5 to 6 foot tarpon 70 to 90 lbs, i kid you not.

As for the snook, i throw em all back regardless of their size, i only eat salt water fish.

too much mercury and other chemicals in the water these days.

BradShaw 09-25-2003 12:11 PM

Awesome pics!

Went fishing last night, just in a local pond for bass. Caught about 6, with 2 nice ones. Of course, I forgot the camera!

Fishing with Mike is a good time in the marshes!

C_U_Next_Tuesday 09-25-2003 12:12 PM

Great catch !

The sailing trip sounds really groovy...should be an adventure if you are going to Ponce inlet :thumbsup

LeeNoga 09-25-2003 12:28 PM

Brad, you and me should hook up with Mike in October for some ninja fishing! The reds, tarpon and Snook should be hot, and come Nov it peters out..

With this thermodecline we had for 2 months [water temp dropped from 85 to 55] the sea captains have NO idea how the fall fishing is going to be, last year it was on fire....but as of this week there are alot of bull reds and tarpon rolling.

Lots of bait pods.

Jonesy, I am in Central Fla, Atlantic side, Daytona area.

We need a fishing club!

I am sure there are alot more anglers than many want to fess' up to me. We need a fishing webmaster convention :-)

jonesy 09-25-2003 12:39 PM

lee

daytona is a good haul!

if you guys head down south here to ft laud miami to fish, give a shout out. ( Okeechobee is always kickin too .... )

Im sure there are other guys here who would be down with hooking up a good charter.

Poon comes to mind LOL

I think a Porn Fishing Club would be a good idea!!

I love fishing!! It is my favortie thing to do....

I normally fish out of Port Sulpher in Louisiana - great marsh, on the gulf of mexico. I have a camp out there.

I am moving to Tampa full time, so I need to learn the hot spots in Florida.

Brad has become an excellent fisherman... I would have never beleived it before, but he will have his own TV show today!

BradShaw 09-25-2003 12:44 PM

I have considered shooting my own outdoors show and trying to sell it off. BUT, I have a terrible in front of the camera personality!

cool mike. Tampa and the surronding areas have some really good spots. I was gonna say those pics above looked like they be from lousiana.

check out this website http://outdoorsbest.zeroforum.com/zeromain?id=1

its a board from the florida sportsman magazine. Tons of great fishing info there and the people posting are cool.

Lets hire a few babes who are good in front of the camera, and make the show around them. We would just have to go to supervise....

:thumbsup

BV 09-25-2003 12:55 PM

Lee,

I caught 6 reds in ponce inlet last Friday. (end of the jetti) Then saturday we went out about 30 miles to a snapper hole. Hooked a nice Cobia. (22lbs.) and alot of nice Red Snapper and a few Lane. I sent you an email about fishing a while back, no reply. :-(

Laterz,
BV

gregtx 09-25-2003 01:03 PM

Lee.. didn't know you were in the Daytona area.. we did our company retreat out there last June stayed in a home close to the lighthouse "ponce inlet???"... went out and caught a few tuna and a baracuda..

Brad and I went out last night.. started out slow.. but we finally caught a few nice black bass...

BV, did you hear about the 67 foot yaght that went down yesterday inside the inlet, he slammed the jetty, it sank, it was 1.4 million bucks.

I cannot believe you went out in the jetty the last couple of weeks have been treacherous. I did not know you went DEEP SEA fishing...now that scares me! LOL.

I have never had red snapper...or cobia.

I been meaning to email you but never know when I can go out and fish...so I been stalling....been a busy month at the Police Dept where I do some work on weekends...love to play with those citizans,,,,[Argh], did not know if I was gonna be booked for surgery etc....[nope, no surgery, inoperable]...so all the things that could factor into not being able to go out are nearing the end....

We are definately going out! Where did ya catch the reds North Jetty? Your nuts to fish off that angry thang :-))

We fish New Symrna, left of marker 47, there is a nice red bank and drum hole.

Well, you know now Greg! You were like 30 miles from me on the coast, and I go there all the time...let me know when you are down and no doubt BV and myself can hook up with ya to go spank some fish.

The storms that passed thru here have reaked havoc on the coast, and bruoght in some fish and warm waters. We had a thermo-decline that lasted 2.5 months where the water went from 86 to 55 and stayed cold....

Black bass, thats sweet, we have a saltwater one called, "Black sea bass", and its rated 5 star and only about 10 inches long.

Mr Pheer 09-25-2003 02:54 PM

We go out to the desert and fish for rattlesnakes when we get bored in Las Vegas

Ross 09-25-2003 02:54 PM

My what a big fish you have....

BV 09-25-2003 03:05 PM

It's not so bad at the Jettis Lee, were in a 25' Shamrock. We anchor out on the point and catch the outgoing tide or drop back about 200 yards in the channel. I didn't go out yesterday so I didn't hear about that wreck, but I'll get the scoop tomorrow. They must have lost power or something. Ocean was nice today.

BTW: Just got word, were going out deep tomorrow (40 miles) I'm pumped.

wizz 09-25-2003 03:10 PM

No problem, I can MC the show and we can get booked on Bravo, and come on right after "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy".

Oh.

And.

I can be the other "queer" eye on the fish.

I have to determine if Brad is better than me, its a gentlemans bet, and I bet not.....

Freshwater is one thing, salt is another, and our fish have teeth but so do I, so who cares, I get it :-))

Lee Noga from CECash officially challenges Brad Shaw from SIC Cash.

Go to http://www.newsjournalonline.com its front page in the print mag and on the website.

Last week a 31 foot went up 60 degrees in the inlet and dumped a boy and the captain right in the inlet...

Yah I heard about that last week. It can get wavy at times. Gotta move with it and grab on when necessary :) Always helps to be a good swimmer too.

The "Triple Header" came in today with 5 "Sailfish" flags flying. That's incredible.

oh and that wrecked cruiser you mentioned is still in the channel, sunk right in the middle! Heard it was nice like you said, like a 60 footer and the guy had 2 Harley Davidson's on board! Don't know how it happened yet but I'll find out more tomorrow.

laterz.....

LeeNoga 09-26-2003 12:09 AM

The article link I gave can give you all the details...its prolly off the front page now and to do the search requires a fee to read the entire story...

Its his fault, he was warned off not to come thru the inlet at that time of night, he did and had no spotlight and welp...he lost it all.

5 Sailfish!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wah.

Lee whines some more.

LeeNoga 09-26-2003 09:04 AM

No more fish pix? Fish stories?

BradShaw 09-26-2003 09:05 AM

Lee, maybe you can arrange for FM to loan us his condo at las ventanas in Cabo so we can go marlin fishing.

LeeNoga 09-26-2003 10:03 AM

Marlin Fishing? Woo.

I have not talked to FM on the phone since April and it was for 60 seconds.

I need at least 90 seconds to ask for the keys to his condo--LOL.

Just do not tell him I will be there, that will shoot down any chances of him passing the keys!

LeeNoga 09-26-2003 11:04 AM

Like I could hide the fact when the pic floats on the chatboards with your 500 pound Marlin....

Can you hear it....

"No FM, that was not Brad Shaw that was my new GF, isn't she the cutest little butchie you ever saw?".....

Now, send him some nice traffic, and butter him up.
