http://www.maxmind.com/ - get the geo database and mod_geoip and you're good to go.
http://www.ip-sorter.com/ - An easy to use admin interface |

I would definately reccomend either Richard (http://www.ip-sorter.com/ ) for a pre-scripted solution or Woj for writing you something custom to go with the maxmind database :thumbsup

Jeroman, hit me up on ICQ if you want a demo: 41012160.
As for performance, i think ip-sorter is the fastest on the market at the moment (the only one coded in C). We ran a test on an empty machine (p3 1.3gig, 512meg ram, scsi disk) and pushed a simulated 5,000,000 hits through the CGI script. Load average increased from 0.00 to 0.50, with 50% cpu usage. Its not a 'real-world' benchmark, but it gives you an idea of the peformance. We have traffic brokers doing around 1M/day with no probs. $300 first copy [including the maxmind $150 premium data], $150 thereafter. (1 copy for 1 server, can be used on all the domains). Hit me up for a chat if you're interested. Richard. |
http://www.ip-sorter.com/ is great!

If you cannot find one to your liking, Contact scriptball software and we can make a custom one that will suit your needs.

See sig.
Use only the in.php and you are done. it brings a geofilter (based on IP), client (browser, download manager) filter, IP or IP range filter and request method filter. And it's free. If you do not use the out.php it does not act as trading script but only as traffic tracker and stats tool. |
I highly recommend Richard's http://www.ip-sorter.com/
It's a great piece of software; we use it on 2 servers, and the load is negligible. |
I'm sure there is something for free that's decent at hotscripts.com, freshmeat.net or sourceforge ;)
:thumbsup :thumbsup |

good luck with your business :winkwink: |
Did anyone write a php script that imports the csv file to
a mysql database then have a redirect script? Data for csv looks like 33996344 33996351 GB GBR UNITED KINGDOM Then you can convert the surfers ip to that format via $dotted_ip_address = long2ip($ip_number); and see where the ip matches up. I didn't want to duplicate work if someone already had something they'd share. |

The queries take 0.01 to 0.05 sec on a PII 350 MHz machine. On more powerful machine they take way less. 0.00 seconds according to my production server, but it has 16 CPUs so it's a bit more difficult to overload it :) |

Instead of redirecting valuable traffic away from your sites why don't you consider just geo-targeting your ads instead? See my sig for a great program that does just that.
