Looking for a script

Hey all.

I am wondering if anyone knows of a script that would allow me to have a user submit their email address requesting a password, and then send them an email with a randomly generated password that would be automatically written to the .htpasswd file.

A double optin script would be best but single would work too..

thanks.

use mod_auth_mysql and get rid of the .htaccess files.
Pros:
1) easy to manage
2) automation ins easy
3) easy to cluster
4) flexibility
Cons:
1) uses mysql instead of files (if you can considerate this as a con. In my opnion it's a pro because the database could be located on another box, could be clustered and could have different security policy than the web server)

I have one that will let them enter an e-mail address then it sends a comfirmatio link after they click they can enter a user name and password of their choice but it doesnt make random passwords
