i noticed that the pornkings download program sends out porno ads to a surfers desktop.The person who dowloaded it is probaly not the only one useing the computer. A kid could go use the computer and then have porn ads presented to him.

A 15 year old child could also go to a TGP and get free access to porn. The responsibility is on to the adult to ensure what a child is viewing.

yeah but i dont think anyone reads the Terns and Conditions and know they have installed a messenger that will allow porn ads to show up on their desktop.They say they do this instead of mailings but at least with email only the adult would have access to the account and not the kids

we don't put any Porn ads on any desktops. infact we don't even send out adult on our messanger. right now we only send out dating sites on it and mainstream products.

but if we do.. it will be to sites that are censored and require CC to join.

For as long as I've been watching them, Pornkings have used and defended unethical business practices - especially pre-checked cross billing.

The fact they can't see what they're doing is wrong is just the first nail in their coffin.

There's a huge difference between unethical and aggressive billing methods. If it was unethical, it would not be allowed by their respective processors. Prechecked cross sales in my opinion is a little aggressive but far from unethical or illegal and I'm sure Pornkings is well under the 1% ratio which shows that surfers aren't charging back.

at one point you did send adult ads though it right? I installed it a while back on my pc and i got adult ads

The thing is, since cross sells raise the transaction amount, this could be actually increasing chargebacks but because of more transactions which were not asked for - looks like less percentage wise.

In other words it's playing the numbers.

And Epoch is hardly a billing company for the whiter than white companies in it for the long term - the amount of merchants using them with two pre checked cross sells, and sometimes even brown text on a black background so you have to do a "select all" to actually read the text.

Unethical and unprofessional.

I can't see Epoch lasting 'til the end of 2004.

I'm not a sponsor so maybe I'm missing something here, but if you have x joins with no cross-sales and you now do 2 cross-sales that means you have 3x transactions. If a customer does a chargeback, they would chargeback all 3 transactions which means the percentage wouldn't change? If I'm wrong on this, please correct me.

Yea I downloaded it a few days back to see what it was all about and it is some very nasty software. It pops up random consoles, changes the home page, adds all of ce's free e-mail sites to your favorites and that's not even the nasty part. You can't uninstall it from the control panel! You have to go to regedit and remove it and guess what, it's not called download plus in regedit, it's a bunch of random numbers and letters. Oh yea, you also have to remove smart surf which is some fake pop-up blocker that doesn't work and some other program i can't remember right now that it installs. With out uninstall instructions, how many surfers that downloaded it do u think still have it on their computers and get random dating and weather ad pop ups? Really, it pops up random weather ads:)
Never had a problem with this untill they started popping up autodownloads for it on their site's entrance including the console free/traffic back sites. I know I know conversions are the same:)
So a surfer downloads "free porn software" and gets random pop ups, shitty search engine homepages and links to ce's free e-mail sites. This is a great way to gain trust from your surfers:)

we sent out a pop of a girl in a bikkini that went to gallery of a girl only in a bikini it took about 4 clicks before they even got to a pay site that was censored.

we did that a few times. thats because we won't just pop uncensored content thru it. If I did it would probably do even better.

either way we don't send out free nude pics thru it like most emails do and like most tgp's have. which i'm not nocking either of them.
and for the past 6 months we have only sent out mainstream ads

No, I wouldn't say that porn kings is unethical, it's just that their advertising is way to aggressive. You know how many sponsors have pre-checked cross billing? It's not fair to point the finger at porn kings. They seem like nice guys, it's just that autodownload thing i can't stand.

Perhaps it's just because pornkings are so high profile.

I can not agree with anyone who defends pre-checked cross billing.

we have bundled some other programs which paid us per install.
and we have removed some.
right now we are paying 15 cents to webmasters per download
maybe we need to drop the other bundles and just payout less.

this market is very competitive

but as far as what Pornkings does with them is for our one way messanger the others are bundles for other companies.

this is not something I handle in the company so i have to look into what is actually being bundled with our one way messanger.
if its something alot of webmasters want removed. we will do it.

like I said its very hard to please everyone.
its always something everyone wants to get paid out the most but only on there terms.

yes, that is very very illegal. i should know. i had the same concept to install dialers on people's computer. if you are installing something that is fine, but it is illegal to install other things without having them check a box to install it. it is also very very illegal to have programs installed without the option to remove them from the control panel. this is way worse then spam and it's only a matter of time before the felonies are slapped on for "computer hacking" because that's what it is. not to mention, i think the program is totally invisible. new laws state the program has to be visible and a way to exit and or remove the program from start up.

I thinkk it's brilliant and it's only going to make everyone money. I cant wait to see it used and applied to television... rather than commercial breaks.. jsut a small banner or add

i have just downloaded it. this method of installation is known as the "trojan installation" hard to remove unless you know stuff about computers especially because the name is changed to look like it's a windows file so even if they know a little about computers they will over look it, it's basically binded with no installation prompt of what is being downloaded which is illegal, suprised norton doesn't pick it up as a virus, they may not know about it, since they pick 95% of binders up as virus's because they are illegal now

we do not hide the cross sales but like a said in order to be competitive we had to add them.
infact we were one of the last sponsors to do so.

if it effected our chargebacks we would remove them.
our model is a little differant then most yes we have cross sales but we also have a $1 trial for a month.

because we are high profile we are alot more carefull about what we do. because all eys are on us and other large sponsors.

but I have always been available and anyone can contact me unlike alot of other programs out there.

Like I have said many times we build the programs for webmasters thats why we have like 9 in pornkings to cater to asll your needs.
so if you have traffic and there is something you want us to build to your specs I'm all ears

I personally use spybot search and destroy.

I will look into what is being installed tomorrow and if the other programs don't have a remove feature i will remove them

ok maybe it was not your program popping up the adult ads maybe it was the platnium bucks download thingy they have that was popping the adult ads
