Just do a square and then cut half of it off ona diagnol. That's what I do with my ghetto ass photoshop skills. HAHA

Triangles are no longer acceptable geometric shapes.

It has been a long hard decision of the SI meeting, but they said that it would hurt more in the long run to claim a 3 sided shape did actually exist.

LOL... Serious. Cutting a rectangle in two on the diagonal sure makes a triangle. BUT..That cannot be it.
Shortcut please?

Pretty easy...take your rectangle tool (U) and make a perfect square (hold the Shift key while dragging out the square). Now, depending on what kind of triangle you want to make it can be as easy as grabbing your direct selection tool (A), click the center of your square vector to bring out it's outline. Then click directly on the outline to bring out the "nodes." Now, go to your pen tool...right click on it to bring out the Delete Anchor Point Tool. Now go and click on one of the 4 corners. If you want to mess around with the now-formed triangle, go back to the direct selection tool...click one of the 3 corners and drag it all over your pallette for fun.

By using the vector rectangle tool you have total control over the shape you're making...and it will be scalable since it's vector...without losing quality of you need to make it larger.

Make a square and cut it in half diagonally.

I just wanted to be the first to say you should cut a square diagonally.

man, don't play the smart devil advocate with me, this is the right way to make things easier for him, the way that will provide him the best results, flexibility, crispness, definition and control. Yeah, I'd become way too "creative" and tell him "go grab a pencil and a ruler, draw a triangle, scan it, delete bg, use" or better yet "go grab a pencil, a ruler and a rubber, draw some square or hexagon and erase lines and fills until you get a triangle, then scan..." or even "go grab some paper and try your origami skills, then scan" or why not "grab foolio pic, select one triangle with the magic wand, copy and paste in your document" As you can see, all very "creative". But I prefer to help the guy and tell him what's the BEST way to do it, he/she will have enough time to try his/her creativity once he knows the most common tools and techniques :winkwink:
