Goatse 09-24-2003 02:49 AM

I bet you're into Poison and Warrant.

theword 09-24-2003 02:55 AM

has the drummer found his other arm yet?

Elli 09-24-2003 07:27 PM

Yes, I like Poison and Warrant, but not so much the new stuff. And I like Crue better than either of those. Pretty Boy Floyd is pretty dang awesome, but they never did get a big record deal. I saw them and Faster Pussycat last year at Studebaker's and it was absolutely awesome. Everyone knew all the words and was totally into it, and it was a packed house.

Anyway, I'll stop boring you now. You're probably into something cool like Britney Spears. :)

Spunky 09-24-2003 07:28 PM

They still rock after all these years :glugglug

Damn it, I worked through Taime's birthday party tonight and never noticed the time. Too much to do.

On a brighter note, you are a cutie, Elli. I relate to the changing colors thing, but I especially like the red hair.

Fargo Rock City : A Heavy Metal Odyssey in Rural North Dakota

It is a non-fiction book about this guy living in middle of nowhere and his passion for glam metal. It is almost a sociology study but still funny.

His other book is called

Sex, Drugs, and Cocoa Puffs : A Low Culture Manifesto ..the name alone makes me want to buy it.

oh pooh...not always a high artform but it was fun...but then I am a massive glam rock fan so I guess that is why I never minded glam metal. Plus my mother hated it.

Wow, unbelievable. To bad you dont have a car accident and
lose your arm.

There I stooped to your level, and I feel great.

Joke or not, thats just wrong.

SexxxyChat-T 09-25-2003 12:03 PM

Def Leppard has some of the best vocal harmonies ever, ecspecially for rock music.

And how the hell does it get much cooler then to have a 1 armed drummer?

I'd go see them here in Vegas if it wasn't so damn expensive.

damn... they are still around? I give them credit for keeping on... especially after the accident... I mean I admire the guy but the music was just not the same... to top 40 and sickening sweet....

1st two albums (and yes they still had albums when they 1st started) were great!

J-Reel 09-25-2003 12:11 PM

Def leppard rocks????

Didn't they sing the song "pour some sugar on me"?

Yngwie 09-25-2003 12:13 PM

Well said the biggest hits came after he lost his arm which probably made the band even more famous. Each time i see someone with a disability succeeding in life it inspires me to gain some of their attitude be greatful for what you have and if you want more work for it. Webmastering is probably the perfect occupation for people with disabilities and i am sure we would have a few GFY members that would also take offence to "has the drummer found his arm" I guess some people are never gonna stop to smell the flowers and work out what life is supposed to be about..

actually, I have a disability.. a leg disabilty (Spastic Paraplegia is what they call it) and this is the perfect occupation for me in this case :)

Did you throw your bra and panties on stage?

xxxjay 09-25-2003 01:03 PM

ok - now give me my arm back

Samoan 09-25-2003 01:44 PM

I saw Motley Crue in concert back in 99, and it was an awesome experience.

Tommy Lee cried on stage as he told the audience how much he appreciated the support while he was in jail. Then, he thanked us by getting all of the girls in the crowd to flash their tits.

Elli 09-25-2003 03:18 PM

haha yeah I was at that one too, and he cried at ours, too.

I was in the nosebleeds, since it was a last minute decision to go ( to Def Leppard) so I couldn't quite reach the stage with my underwear.. even if I had one of those t-shirt guns. :)

I find Leppard over-produced, but live they absolutely rocked. Say what you will, but I'll take talent over guys who can barely play and stand on their taped 'x' all show mumbling into a mic stand. That's why Filter gets bottles and shoes thrown at them.

I'll take showmanship and talent anyday.

You know, for every person here that knocked glam rock, I didn't see any confessions as to what they preferred. :)

lock 09-25-2003 03:26 PM

lol @ tshirt gun to fire your panties on stage.

AaronM 09-25-2003 03:31 PM

FUCK!

They play tonight in Seattle and I have been busy working. I forgot to get tickets and am still in Portland.

Why the fuck are they not coming here? :(

cronos 09-25-2003 05:22 PM

Jonny Mullet is in town. Lock up your mothers:Graucho

So are you the coolest kid on the block now because you posted a picture of your ticket from 2002? I should post my 6th row Kiss ticket.. cost me 600$...

rowan 09-25-2003 08:17 PM

What do they look like these days? Anyone got a recent pic?

Tala 09-25-2003 08:21 PM

Kick ass! Def Leppard rocked when I saw them in 93, goddamn, it's been 10 yearws since I saw them last...must rectify that.

their offical site http://www.defleppard.com/

are they really touring with Skid Row?

Elli 09-26-2003 11:09 AM

This concert wasn't with Skid Row. I think tha was earlier in the summer. They just had some acoustic Aussie guy do a short set with his guitar. He would have been great in a club, but a single acoustic guitar in an arena is kinda lame. His name is Ricky Waters, I think.

SykkBoy 09-26-2003 12:04 PM

One of the all time greatest albums: Def Leppard - Pyromania

While it was disheartening to see them go after the "chick dollar", they are still one of the top live bands.

Give me a concert full of hair metal/glam bands of the 80's over this shoe gazing bullshit music any day...

lol, half a chapter in that book I am reading is just about how Def were once great but that he reached a point as a teenager where he couldn't admit to liking them because - and I qoute - 'girls liked them WAY too much'
