Well, I don't know anyone here and I hate the heat but I like the mountains behind my house and it's exciting to learn new places and see new sights. It's a mixed bag, really.
I haven't been to the Texas Station, yet, but I've been to several of the other Station Casinos. In fact, we ate dinner at Boulder Station tonight because we didn't feel like cooking. I actually haven't been to any strip casinos since I got here except the Frontier and the Stratosphere. I like the off-strip and locals casinos more. Sam's Town, Sunset Station, Boulder Station, Green Valley Station, Skyline, Jokers Wild and a lot of the other smaller places seem friendlier to me. Plus, they are way more convenient to visit since I don't have to fight the downtown traffic or the 515 with its mysterious disappearing lanes (actually, I like to drive and I enjoy the challenge of the wide high-speed roads out here but sometimes it's just easier to go up the street instead of all the way to the strip). I also found a really cool place near my house called Barley's Casino. It's basically a casino sports bar and it has a nice neighborhood feel to it despite all the video poker machines :)
