WMV to avi or mpeg
 

Does anybody knows what soft to use to convert those wmv files into avi or mpeg and compress and cut to make preview samples for mgp galleries?

I've done searches etc... can't seem to find one. How do you MGP submitters do it... let me see the light please :-)

Use ASF tools. Then use virtualdub and photoshop.

I like cleanerXL. More flexible.

i know that MGI videowave will do it (comes with 50% of webcams for sale)

vegas also does it.

TMPGEnc & Vegas both will work, but TMPGEnc is much cheaper and will fit your needs I guess

Vegas is more an Video editor

I think a better question would be, why?

There are MGPs that don't accept galleries with .wmv files. Just one reason.

Go back to who ever you bought them from and ask for them in AVI/ mpeg format.

if you can get hold of adobe premiere 6.5 it will do all of that and more but of course it does not come cheap!
