Interesting changes in the fast food markets

I'm not a big fast food person these days, but I've noticed some interesting changes happening.

First BK starts this "fire grilled' kick. More taste but not from fat.

Then McDonalds goes on it's Healthy Lifestyles campaign with lighter menu items.

Now..

Taco Bell has "Fiesta Style". Essentially reducing calories by elimating the cheese and sauce in favor of 'fiesta salsa".

Next it's gonna be diet pizza.

Fast food is evil and will make you fat, no matter what. I fuckin' hate it.

NoCarrier 09-22-2003 07:14 PM

Less fat = More sugars. Wich is not good. One of the main reason why the number of obese people (and Type 2 diabetes) increased dramatically and is now an epidemic.

Seven-Eleven has diet Slurpees now too.........I'm addicted to Slurpees :)

ROFL! that's what always cracks me up.... someone who orders 2 burgers and large fry then a diet coke.

My only 'fast food' these days is Subway or take out teriyaki chicken. I love subway's salad with chicken breast and lowfat italian dressing.

One thing I've found doing "the zone". You can zone just about any fast food combination, but at one point a quick fix lunch for me could be a Jack in the Box chicken fajita pita. Take away about 1/3rd of the pita bread and it's zoned (40% carbs, 30% protein, 30% fats).

that always kills me. 300 pound people ordering two QuarterPounders with cheese, large fries and an apple pie........ and a Diet Coke. I feel like axing them 'Do you really think you'd look all that much worse at 350 lbs rather than 325?'.

Shok 09-22-2003 07:24 PM

I like subway because Jared is sooooo hot.
When he's talking on tv he is talking directly to me, did you know that?

Yeah, it seems strange when they order that diet coke, but at least it's 400-500 less calories. :1orglaugh

buddyjuf 09-22-2003 07:26 PM

people love fast food
and if its "healthy" they will buy it without even thinking twice

Mutt 09-22-2003 07:27 PM

there's only one diet that works for sustained weight loss but people don't want to accept it. Burn more calories than you take in. Nothing else works long term.

Lower carb, but not high saturated fats or high proteins. No induction period where you are at 0 carbs, etc. Also eating 3 meals and 1 or 2 snacks a day. It helps to balance insulin levels in the body.

Ok i just sawe an episode of springer we are a few years behind with episodes so you guys may remember it.

A 700 pound guy on Springer cam goes out for breakfast. In a cafee he eats 4 plates of bacon and eggs. Lunch he eats 4 burgers 3 cheese burgers 5 large fries and 2 large meal deals. Dinner he went to eat at a steak house took on the house challenge 3000 people attempted it 11 people completed eating the lump of meat. Anyway he ate it all in a day along with other stuff and yes washed it all down with diet coke.

Atleast you turned yourself around, my dad had 2 triple bypass surgeries, and one quadurple bypass surgery and he is still fucking smoking and he is fucking drinking shit load. So no, he didn't learn fast, I've told him, you know what you've survived three of these surgery's and heart attacks, if you die, it's your fault, because you had three chances to change!

a major chain had a chicken grill burger that was taken off the market as it was found t wasnt grilled but was branded with grill marks to look griled.

Well, I try to stay away from diet drinks because i have a reaction to aspertane. In fact, (its kinda funny) a post I made about it on another adult webmaster board is now listed on an anti-aspertane website :-)

However, even if you are eating all of your daily calories at fast food, why should we add another 400 calories in liquid form?

Za Ha 09-22-2003 10:08 PM

I eat REAL fast food (like the big macs and the whoppers and other shit) but I do it in moderation and work out a lot and am not fat at all. Its all bout the amount you eat and if you move your lazy ass around a bit.

Stopped eating as much bout 6months ago and lost 40lb and I have to buy new pants cause my waist went from a 34 to a 31.

And I still eat at least 2-4 BigMacs or other BigBurgers a week with NON-diet cock (edit coke lol).

The low fat stuff is loaded with sugar and ppl eat more of it cause they think its healthy so it works as bad if not worse!

zero carbs? weird because you're allowed about 30 grams a day to keep ketosis going.

under 30 grams would be tough, but zero? crazy

they are tired of frivolous lawsuits about making people fat.

even tho the judges toss out the cases, it's still bad publicity

Exactly

99% free implies they've doubled the sugar to compensate. So you're no better off.

The new McDonals menu - yes it's low in fat, some items are high in sugar, but there are a lot of chemicals in there that I just don't trust

Atkins starts you at next to nothing and then bumps you up slowly. Zone doesn't.
