Nice, we just came from the sierras, we saw A LOT of different stuff, saw some bears, coyotes, squirels, lots of deer, and alot of dead racoons on the side of the road that got hit...

Its amazing what you see in the country when you actually look around..

The deer above is a doe, so be careful if you ever decide to shoot something on the side of the road, make sure its a male =) Otherwise if someone sees you and the game department hears about it your ass is going to be in deep shit for shooting a female, or if you shoot a male without enough points on its antlers..

Anyways.. nice pics Quiet..

I think what he meant was he saw 4 creatures that you dont see every day.

I had a day like that the other day, it was windy out and i almost hit a peacock that was ( no shit ) asleep in the road. Then lke less than a mile down the road i almost run over a damn raccoon that was running down the middle of the street perpendicular ?? dumb racoon. * i also saw an owl and a baby sea lion pup , the same day.

Rocky 09-21-2003 11:55 PM

is that the road to Johnston Canyon?

Gman.357 09-21-2003 11:57 PM

I like the pics a lot. Did they actually let you get that close, or did you use a zoom?

elk and shit ( mountain goats )LOVE the salt that your tires pick up off the road so often times they will sit in the road till a car comes along then they take it hostage and lick the tires for a while till you honk your horn a bunch ... * or firecrackers Deer are fairly skittish depending on the age , young ones have no brains so they dont care, if theres a male deer around they generally hide behind it.

ill tell ya something cool about racoons if you ever see one , They cant judge depth perception very well or something like that , but if you hold a blanket in front of you in a square you can walk right up to a racoon ( as long as he doesnt smell you ) and they cant tell you are there.. Tame ones will eat out of your hand but they are very mean and vicious creatures..

That's the kind of place I've been talking about quiet. You can have the mountain lodge and I'll take your place for a week, sound like a decent trade? :)

Damn though... that's amazing. The side view mirror is a nice touch too ;).
