I always wondered this. Do those stupid noises everyone is putting on their banners actually make anyone click?

Once I mouse over by mistake and a sound blares out, I hit refresh so I can get a new banner on the screen. I don't even read the one with noise, I just want it off my screen.

I can tell ya the sounds that are made, but I have no idea who the banners are for.

The only one that bothers me is the one that says "fuck yeah"

Up until now the noises haven't bothered me, but the FlashCash one with the "oooooooooooooaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh" chick moaning sound is annoying. Most people don't need that blaring across their speakers when least expected.

Reminds me when I was on the phone years ago with this chick and I was reviewing some galleries for a TGP I was running, one of those "PRESS P BLAH BLAH BLAH FOR PUSSY" audio flash banners started blaring across the speakers and I had to go through the whole "No i'm not watching porn, this is my job" routine.

I browse gfy with opera, without flash installed and signatures turned off.

It also WAYYY faster this way.

People who browse with signatures off shouldn't be allowed to have a signature of their own.

I hate the Fuck ya banner too.. THe kids yell at me every time it goes off because they think I'm saying bad words :(

As above I simpy wont click a banner that has an annoying noise even if it is interesting because it is as said - ANNOYING.

There was a post a while back from someone who owns one and the response was something like 'you took notice though'. Odd that because I thought the idea was to get clicks, not always the same thing.

Yeah that "fuck yeah" banner drives me nuts...Remeber way back when musivc on a site was the rage...

Then maybe some of the people WITH signatures should be a little more courteous WITH their signatures. I would gladly turn sigs back on (it's a real pain in the ass with them off) if certain people would stop loading their signatures with crazy flash banners that lag my browser. The HUGE banners in signatures are obnoxious as well.

Every time I need an ICQ number from a sig I go turn them back on, enter the thread to get the number, and 7 times out of 10 my browser will lag. That's ridiculous.

I dont want to turn of flash completely but thoose flashbanners with sound are pain in the ass. I find myself really trying to avoid them with my mouse when browsing.
