Jenn- if you're getting them off of Kazaa, then that's why. Apparently some of the same group who are making the legal threats have also started "seeding" Kazaa (and others) with bad downloads. They do it to pretty much anything new or on the charts. Try downloading something old, or not popular, as a test and you'll probably see it doesn't happen. Best bet is to look through the search results and try to connect up to a single user, or pick a file that only has a couple people listed. If you download from multiple people, or snag a file that has 50 people listed, then you're probably going to get the screeching shit.
