Hosting providers, who wants to bend over for me?
 

We're looking for a new host for a series of sites.

The server specs should be decent, although these won't have many heavy scripts (no trading scripts and such).

Now, the bending over part.
We're looking for a server on a 100mbps port, BUT we wanna pay as we go.

As the first few months we'll be using 1-2mbps max... and later on it might rise quite a bit. So no point in taking a 20mbps plan now when we're using 100gig a month in the beginning.

So, basically we would only pay for what we use, but not per GIG. Lol.. am I making any sense.

If we use 20 gigs per month, we'd pay for 1mbps, anything between 1 and 2 mbps we'd pay for 2..

This isn't anything urgent though, we're looking to start the relationship mid october.

Here's an idea for you...go with DarkSide Hosting. They have a great plan for unlimited transfer for only $1100/month. Use 100mbit and he'll be out of business in a month. Then quick transfer everything to PhatServers and you can use 100mbit for free the first month. Two months into it, you've used a ton of b/w for only $1100!

Hosting companies are getting aggressive just for a customer.. what a shame. Your best choice is Swiftwill.. their new network is amazing. Do a tracert on sexape.com.. that should speak for itself.

Widget I don't think this would work.
It appears Darkside is a reseller reselling jacked up servers from rackshack. I don't think you could get more then 10 Mbps out of his "unlimited" plan ...and for $1100 that is not a good price for a 10 Mbps capped server.

There's got to be a catch to that.....HAS to be a capped 10 meg port, in which case that is a shitty price.

I don't feel like being a daredevil, but if I didn't want to go with a well-known company I'd get a fucking cheap host. goddamn, this is a total surprise for me.
