Good deed of the day.

Butrflied 09-18-2003 07:42 AM

I donated last month because I thought I was going to get my tattoo touched up .. but I havent done that so I might as well wait until after I can dontate again..

For some reason I just feel healthier after donating.

I'm not allowed to donate because of medication I'm on, but I had to have 2 blood transfusions 3 years ago (6 pints total) and I'd like to thank everyone who DOES donate! :thumbsup

they screen the blood...heck half the kids I know that gave blood in the high school blood drive looked at it as a free AIDS test.

I tried donating blood in high school to get out of class. Passed out about half-way through the pint. Haven't donated since and am even more afraid of needles then ever before.

I tried too ...my veins are hard to get blood from and they tried a few times and gave up saying the huge needles they would have to use on me would hurt me too much or something.

Felt bad because I have fairly rare blood.

It's usually hard for them to get blood from my veins too, so they always use butterfly (pediatric) needles on me.

Strangely enough, needles don't bother me at all. Donating blood is a great idea :thumbsup I think I'll do that sometime soon.

Congrats on your good deed :thumbsup

KRL 09-18-2003 09:47 AM

Some fat old goat at the supermarket pushed her shopping cart right into my back without even looking where she was going. Didn't even say she was sorry. Just looked at me as if I was in her way. So when she turned around to look at the fruits I "accidently" pushed my cart into her fat old goat butt.

God I'm so bad. Sorry no good deeds today.

:)

do you feel better bout life now ?

Tala 09-18-2003 10:08 AM

I used to donate platelets for cancer research and transfusion in preparation for bone-marrow transplants. This routine took about two hours and left me feeling kinda weak, but all in all it was worth it. I have blood type B+, which is rare. Only type more rare is AB- (in TN anyway).

Then I was diagnosed with cancer and I can't donate anymore. :( Thanks for donating.
