They said if this had not turned North and instead gone west directly into Florida at the original Cat 5 wind strength and a size twice as big as Andrew, between 10,000 to 50,000 people would have been killed, property damage would have gone into hundreds of Billions, and it would have been the most devasting disaster ever in the US.

Thank God.

I remember Andrew all TOO well

it sucked, I lost a bunch of shit, and someone's roof was in my fucking passenger seat of a very pimpish 70' monte carlo I had been restoring :/

it is a good thing that didn't go straight over FL, it does look a bit bigger than Andrew was...

the bad part of course with this one, even though it's slowed up a bit, is the flooding...

Well quakes and canes are both nasty. I decided I'd rather face the wrath of a hurricane that at least I know is coming vs. a quake that comes out of nowhere when you least expect it.

When a 6.9 quake wakes your ass up at 4:30 AM like the '94 one did to me, you'll change your opinion about the west coast fast.

I hope in the next earthquake you fall into the ocean and drown the most horrible death where no one finds your body.
