A few weeks back I had an odd thing happen - my signups were cut into like a third. I mean I hadnt seen numbers like that since my first month in business. It recovered two weeks later; but was the weirdest thing.

Then I found out that the yearly VISA fee has kicked in and they had some accounting problem where two weeks of chargebacks were all taken out at once.

Not sure what happened, but I did notice it!

i miss my old ibill days

I have an almost 0% chargeback ratio; so when I saw some charges on my weekly statement, I called them. They said they are taking out like $65 a week for 6 weeks to pay the $350 yearly.

Normally I probably wouldnt even notice $65, but the line item that was usually blank suddenly started showing numbers.

I did call when my numbers were real low and they said their systems were fine; but it is unusual that acticity was back to normal after those two bad weeks.

Thats what I don't understand....

Traffic is steady...servers are fine....CCBill is the only other variable that I can see.

Today has been a fair bit lower than the rest of the week, not just ccbill, sponsors all round. Same traffic, if not more. These things happen i guess

I just ran some reports and for last 6 weeks only 13% spread between best and worst weeks.

mGreg 09-17-2003 10:35 PM

They are hurting me too. I've been in this business for almost a year and there have always been days/periods like this. Regardless of the number of transactions

Interesting...but volume does play a role in that number ya know.

heymatty 09-17-2003 10:47 PM

Well I am sure I have enough volume to make it meaningful :)

see my thread about this topic and you know my answer

slapass 09-18-2003 12:11 AM

hammerville on ccbill programs. I have stuff that was making nice signups every week and they have all come to a screeching hault. Maybe it is me but it is easier to blame ccbill as my other stuff is doing ok and topbucks is kicking serious butt.

My sales seem to be up inthe last few days. For a while they were down. Things fluctuate-- I find more so in the summer.

EDIT: I just noticed your username and post count. This looks suspiciously like someone coming here to badmouth a healthy biller. Hmm.
