If you have an LCD display and you want sharper type fonts:

Go to your desktop settings

Click appearance

Click effects

Check the box that says Clear Type

This will dramatically sharpen your screen.

By the way, that clear type setting really did help. Think it just anti-aliases all the fonts, but it looks MUCH nicer.

Yep I just set it on both my new LCD screens today and saw a dramatic improvement too.

Im not running an LCD and I still notice a difference, btw.
The only question is...why isn't this turned on by default? Guess It'd just make too much sense? :Graucho

I am on LCD and I saw the oposite. Its blurry when I turn it on.

Im pretty sure it just anti-aliases all the fonts. How good it looks probably depends on what resolution you're running, one girl told me it gave her a headache.

What's your desktop reso? I run 1600x1200, lots of people that use my computer says it looks blurry to them :)

I have one 15" LCD set for 1024 x 768 and a 17" set for 1280 x 1024.

its true tho i put XP on cause it looked nice and its fucking pissing me off so much its made my new laptop run like fucking donkey nuts....win2k will be back on before the sunsets....
