The makers of the bestselling video game Grand Theft Auto are being sued for more than £60m after two teenagers said they were copying its violent scenes when they killed a man.

The court case could help to decide the debate over whether violent video and computer games cause aggression in children. Grand Theft Auto and its three sequels are designed in Britain and have topped the UK and US games charts, selling more than 20 million copies in the past five years. The player acts the role of a street thug with 40 different weapons.

I think parents needs to take responsibility for their kids. Not some fucking video game makers. Sue the fucking parents, they are the ones who raised them. They are the ones who allowed them to play the game.

This is just bullshit to make a buck. i'm going to go kill some people then blame them so I can get ten mil (not actualy, just an example). Ten years in jail would be worth it...

LOL yes lets forbid violent videogames but lets still sell guns to whoever wants one and alow kids from 16 to drive a car.

We played "Dukes of Hazard" all the time with our BMX bikes. I remember setting up ramps so we could do jumps in the air like the General Lee. Many a young ballsacs were crushed on bike frames during that period.

These kids have no trouble differentiating between fact and fiction. They're simply looking for a scapegoat because THEY fucked up. Another bull shit law suit from low-lifes who refuse to take responsibility for their actions, but most importantly, their life.

Who rates video games? What's the organization called? I would love to see them sue these parents for allowing their snot-nosed brats to play a game they obviously do not have the mental capacity to understand.

Games have ratings for a reason. My mom always asks me about games before she buys them for my 7 year old brother. He doesn't get anything he isn't old or mature enough to understand. My 15 year old brother, on the other hand, can play most any game he wants because he has no problem telling fact from fiction and is plenty mature to play GTA without running the risk of killing someone. What's sad is I'm fairly sure I could say the same thing about my 7 year old brother...

We have now deeply entered the age of blaming. Strippers getting blamed for prostitution and drugs, music/movies/games getting blamed for random acts of violence, and guns/knives being blamed for brutal murders.

What a load of bullshit.. If a kid can't distinguish fantasy from reality, they shouldn't be allowed to watch TV, let alone play a video game. It's called parental control. I think in more bullshit cases like this the PARENTS should be charged with fucking stupidity. I've played GTA, but I would sure as hell not let my kid play if he figured it was real. My son is 5 and he knows that video games are NOT real.
