its hate spam, [email protected] pissed off a spammer and now they are spammin her email addy so she has to deal with all the stupid shit people send her

Someone is simply verifying their email list, waiting for bounced
emails.

That's reverse spam. Chances are, if you email that addy, it will reply to you with an auto reply, with a URL to their web site(s) in it.

It's "sort of" clever, because being you emailed them and they are just replying to you, so it's not really "spam". Even though they set out the bait.

It's also a way for them to test if your email is alive or actively checked. If they get a response, they will flood your box, because they know it's being checked by you.
