Problems connecting to IRC through my gateway...
* Connecting to irc.dal.net (6661)
- -broadway.ny.us.dal.net- *** Looking up your hostname... - -broadway.ny.us.dal.net- *** Checking Ident - -broadway.ny.us.dal.net- *** Found your hostname - Closing Link: 0.0.0.0 (You match the pattern of a known trojan, please check your system.) - * Disconnected any ideas? I can connect to some IRC servers but not all of them... What is Ident? Is this some sort of process I have to run on my FBSD gateway server? TIA! |
Not your problem ;) if you really care just uncomment it in /etc/inetd.conf
|
identd is an old unix daemon which provides information about who owns a certain TCP connection on your system. (in this case the ircserver wanna see who owns the connection to itself).
I would try another ircserver .. or maybe tmp run a fake identd daemon when you connect to that ircserver. Or just enable the real identd that prob. comes with your unixinstall .. maybe firewall it so only the ircserver is allowed to connect to it. |
Cool beans... :)
