what am i doing wrong?
i open a .php file with notepad.
it is all nicely spaced out and plenty of linebreaks and shit. then i hit save, the second i hit save it puts the entire file on one line. wtf? is this a setting in windows or in notepad? |

you need an editor that can figure out the difference between unix and dos and format it correctly for you so you can work on it..

Dont use notepad. Use editplus.

Or you can simply use any HTML editor such as Dreamweaver. It will preserve the formatting of the text. |

use and learn VIM for windows. Wordpad and even notepad on occations save a whacky ^M at the end of each line which causes alot of the errors i see in scripts on our servers. But of course only a true jedi can harness the power of the VI.
