Hot of the press. Cologroup introduces mail hosting & more!

Now to make the press release of the year for ColoGroup. Very exciting things going on.

First, to introduce myself...Keyo. I am taking over ColoGroup's public relations, marketing, finances,
and anything else non-technical.

Our goal is to provide rock solid hosting, with the best prices, and the best support so that we can provide
you with trouble free hosting for your sites. My personal goal is to expand ColoGroup into other markets
and build the company into an even more solid running business. You will see alot of advances, new services, and
products this year from ColoGroup.

Our new service we are offering is offshore mail hosting, from where you can send out your mail or land
your mail traffic to.

We have spent the last 3 months setting up a data center in asia where you can mail out or land your mail traffic
to with out being shut down. This has been in the test proccess for 2 months with out any problems except the
usual ip blocking and complaints. We have aquired many classes of ip's so that you can have fresh ip's at your disposal
when you need them. Our data facility is staffed by an admin 24/7 so whenever you need a reboot, or a problem
fixed, it can be done right away, with no delay. Time is money. This unique network has been built with many
negociations with the upstreams and administrators of other networks. The relationships are strong, so the complaints
are overlooked. However, you will still need to use remove links, why anger people who don't want to be mailed
anyways. The beautiful thing about running this type of network facility overseas is that money is the key to
everything. Our money is strong, and our hosting is and will stay strong as well. We don't expect on getting canned
anytime soon, or we wouldn't be offering these services.

Dedicated server rental details:
2.8 gigahertz dual Intel Xeon Prestonia Socket-604 CPUs at 533 Mhz host bus interface
Dual 60+60 gig Hitachi Deskstar disks
3Com 3c905ctxm network card for high-speed throughput
RAID 0, 1 and 10 supported
Additional Broadcom gigabit Ethernet controler
Supported operating systems, REDHAT / FreeBSD
1 gig of memory which can be upgraded up to 4 gigs of memory.

These machines can push out well over 10 million e-mails a day, or transfer easily 20mbps+ of traffic.
For people who run mailers that embed images into the e-mail, you can img src from your server, however this takes
alot of bandwidth. Especialy if 100,000+ people are opening their e-mail.
We have mailing software for a rental fee, direct mailing or socks mailing. We can also accomodate custom setups
which you can contact us to talk more about.

It was only a matter of time until a company put togeather a stable, problem free mailing solution and we're glad
to say ColoGroup is one of the first.

You can contact me for any questions / inquiries, [email protected] or on icq 252888289.
I'm usualy in and available between 9am to 6pm pst.

Myles is handling all technical things, as well as any deals / agreements he has going now.
Togeather we're aiming to build one of the next biggest hosts with outstanding services this industry has not seen.

Nice to meet all of you guys and hope we can do some business.

PS. if someone from gfy would like to contact us, i am interested in getting a banner and button running for cologroup. thank you.

Myles? What? With Cologroup?

WTF?

AaronM 09-15-2003 01:31 PM

They're Baaaaaack!

KeyoCologroup 09-15-2003 01:33 PM

Sly_Rj,

Myles is doing technical. I am handling everything else. If you have any problems just contact me :) I'm around.

We'll also be at internext to do deals...i am pondering just having a bar setup and getting all you webmasters wasted.

FATPad 09-15-2003 01:33 PM

Alright! Myles is back and the company is looking to get spammers with their new facility in Asia!

This is gonna rock!

KeyoCologroup 09-15-2003 01:34 PM

Fatpad,

Marketers would be the correct word. Everyone is out to make money, and e-mail marketing is a business like any other. It just tends to anger people a bit more :)

vapewiz 09-15-2003 01:36 PM

Myles steal any name servers lately you crazy fuck? :1orglaugh

By the way your site is ugly and i suspect you will never be big with out Jason dealing with customers. After dealing with you and seeing the stories people have about you here you need to check yourself into the psych ward. :2 cents:

Oh, trust me, I know perfectly well who Myles and Cologroup are. Just 10 months ago Myles decided it would be cute to pull some servers from the data center. Everything on my account was completely lost, after sucking in lie after lie about "everything being fine".

Myles, quick tip, next time you want to start a hosting company... change names.

Wilbo 09-15-2003 01:39 PM

Question........how do you keep your processor from shutting you down? I'm not knocking spammers or anything like that. I would just like to know how you get your signups processed without getting shut down?

GTS Mark 09-15-2003 01:39 PM

Where's Jason?

DH

Snake Doctor 09-15-2003 01:40 PM

Actually Myles did leave cologroup....but he somehow managed to hijack the domain name....so the old cologroup people have a different name now.....these aren't the cologroup people you're thinking of....its the angry psychotic tech who stole servers from the colo when he got fired.

KeyoCologroup 09-15-2003 01:42 PM

Myles was always the rightfull owner of cologroup, he did not steal any company from jason. This is why this company is in his possession. From my knowledge the servers were pulled because they rightfully belonged to him, and his partnership with jason had ended.

Jason is running his own hosting company i believe.

KeyoCologroup 09-15-2003 01:42 PM

I am taking everything over, so on to better things guys :)

Myles lacks people skills, but he is one great admin.

basschick 09-15-2003 01:49 PM

spammers is the right name for people using this service. anyone with a double opt in list doesn't need a mailserver like this. so basically your service will help send porn spam to children and other people who shouldn't have it -

and will bring MORE heat down on our business. thanks SOOOO much :feels-hot

Correct. Maybe we should spam/overun his servers block of IP....

KeyoCologroup 09-15-2003 02:43 PM

we suggest to our customers to use only adult harvested e-mails, billing databases, or some sort of verified adult address.

why would you want to mail children anyways, they don't have credit cards.

e-mail marketing is legal like any other business, and makes alot of money like any other business. as long as the money is there it will always be used to make money.

justsexxx 09-15-2003 02:44 PM

Your site looks great..Also the history of the company is solid. Good luck

Yes and new Cologroup site will be up very soon. I've switched with Myles now for over 4 months and everything is running smoother than ever was with Jason. I feel that Jason wasn't a good business partner and Myles will succeed. I love his control panels on my server and I'm able to configure anything at anytime. I have yet to have downtime on my site since I made the switch. Trust me guys, Myles is a good person and knows whats up!:thumbsup

KeyoCologroup 09-16-2003 08:37 AM

thanks d_nell

everything is running strong at cologroup...we're here to stay :)

pimpshost 10-09-2003 09:25 PM

Oh wow. I cant believe I missed this thread. LMAO!!! I just found it when I did a search.

Anyways, I run pimpshost.com and have nothing to do with Cologroup. Also, D_nell is an old friend of mine who Myles hosts for free. And justsexxx is Andre, the tech Myles had originally hired from Russia. ....Andre is way cool by the way.....

Well, what a funny post. I'm glad I came accross this. God help anyone who actually uses them.

BTW, if you read this Myles, I love the AUP!http://www.cologroup.com/html/aup.html

And also got a kick out of your Solutions on the bottom. I look forward to seeing you at In and Out one day making me a burger.
