General Wesley Clark
 

Should we make this guy President?

He is expected to announce within the next couple of days whether he will run or not. He appears to be a near fucking perfect human being. Even the "draft wesley clark" movement is near perfect as far as a democratic process is concerned. I mean, I cannot think of a time when the people actually put someone in office as opposed to the two parties telling us who we should vote for.

The background on this guy is impeccable. I do not see how anyone will be able to stand a chance running against him. I honestly think that he is going to blow Bush out of the water.

Some good things about General Clark:
- extremely intelligent
- articulate
- Graduated first in his class at West Point
- Rhodes Scholar at Oxford
- Masters degree in philosophy, politics, and economics
- Speaks four languages, including Russian
- In an ambush with the Viet Cong, he received four gunshot wounds to his leg and hand, but still managed to direct a counterattack and lead his platoon to safety, earning a Silver Star and Purple Heart. Through a year of intense physical therapy, Clark taught himself to walk again, although a quarter of his calf muscle was gone. He also mastered a firm handshake, despite the missing muscle around his right thumb.

- led NATO in defeating Milosovic in Kosovo without a single allied loss of life
- Very involved in research and scientific development.
- Thoughts on the Patriot Act:
"The Patriot Act ought to be pulled out and given a full sunshine review? You?re not going to win the war on terrorism if you destroy who we are as Americans and take away our rights and liberties."
- is not a career politician

some bad things about General Clark:
- has no political experience
- was Commander at Ft. Hood during the Waco incident. Ft. Hood is where they got the military equipement from to storm the Waco compound.
- the "I am not going to start WWIII for you" statement by a subordinate during the NATO conflict in Kosovo. This statement was made when General Clark ordered British troops to resecure an airfield occupied by Russian troops.

I am sure there is more to both lists but it is early...

Come on, someon tell me why this guy should not be President.
