In my experience the trial conversions are just plain horrible.

It would work if EVERYONE increased their prices. Surfers would have no choice. They'd still buy.

Totally Disagree with your Point #1 - There is already so much free stuff available - just look around - and surfers STILL buy memberships. That is a fact. Free stuff available or not. I've started my pay sites back in 97 at $14.95 and increased it along with the majority of the other sites. Currently, at $34.95 and going stronger than ever. (Even though there is more free stuff available than before.)

how long do you think it will take before surfers get educated and learn that there are free sites with no rebills that cater to his needs? and file sharing programs like kazaa.. you think thats likely going to decrease? maybe if they shut it down. but u know very well that another will take its place.

and #2, everybody? very utopian. so unless u can create, manager a cartel with anyone who owns a paysite... its not likely going to happen.
