Linux gurus help

Hi

If you have a high traffic site, which you run on linux, please post some info, what is your sys configuration.

Mbufs, apache compiled for max 256 or 512?, what else did you notice that is locking down linux machine if being used for high traffic?
On what should I be carefull.

linux version:
Red Hat 7.2 - Kernel version 2.4.18-3

I will need one linux machine just for html sites, no scripts.

hardware conf:
2.4 GHz Intel Pentium 4
1 GB 266MHz DDR SDRAM ECC
1 60 GB IDE Hard Disk

Thanks

hahaha ok skills, give me one reason FreeBSD is inferior to Linux. And I know it's not all the 0day buff overflows don't help your argument, you probably run redhat.

I may be a bit biased, but if you are truly running a highly trafficed site you may want to consider either load balancing which has many peripheral benefits or moving to a web server with a superior process model such as Zeus.

since you'll be serving static content
I recommend you use apache2 and have a
look over its caching modules.
compile apache with minimal options tune your drive
and you should be ready to go.
beeing static content it will pull easily 80Mbps and better.
