Republican or Liberal?

Should be interesting to see what the majority is......

Who's up for a debate?

freeadultcontent 09-12-2003 08:16 PM

Are those the only choices left?

Guess I am um un-classified.

ADL Colin 09-12-2003 08:18 PM

It's your poll but think it would make more sense if it were 'Liberal" vs. "Conservative". For one, the non-US webmasters could participate (well, they can anyway). For another, Republican is a party and Liberal is an ideology. Also, no option for apolitical or centrist.

Joe Average 09-12-2003 08:21 PM

Hey Colin, make another poll.

AllisonWonderland 09-12-2003 08:31 PM

yeah, add Libertarian to that poll.

By the way...what are the major parties in Australia and how many parties exist...in addition do you have a solcialist party similar to the solcialist party that exists in the US?

JDog 09-12-2003 08:58 PM

Uh, weren't you taught that there are two things you don't get in a debate about. Those are religion and politics? :)

Australian Labor Party

Liberal Party of Australia Believe it or not this is the name of our conservative party currently in power.

National Party of Australia

Australian Democrats (who I support)

Well...thanks for the links. As for the Australian military and its battles...I am already familiar with. Australians are excellent fighting men.

I thought those were the best two things to get into a debate about. None of us KNOWS anything about them ;-)

SykkBoy 09-13-2003 10:54 AM

since the poll doesn't go in depth enough
fiscally - conservative
socially - liberal

While I don't want the government telling me how to spend my money, I don't have a problem helping out those in need.

While I understand the argument for war, I don't see a need to start bombing someone until every last means of conversation has been exhausted.

I do believe peace has a chance, but also understand when the final line has been drawn in the sand.

I would like to believe we're all created equally and treated fairly, but we're not. While I would defend the right of an employer to hire whomever he wants, I think there should be a fair representative distribution of government and public service jobs.

I think everyone should pay their fair share, but I don't believe in gouging those who've achieved their success by working hard to build a profitable business. I would even go so far as to defend corporate greed. Without it, there would be no corporate growth, because as much as I like to believe that people are just happy to build something of substance, I know that's simply not true and know that striving for profit and greed are what makes things work.

I would love to see a nation that spends a little less on bombing people to prove we have bigger dicks than those we're bombing and more on studying mental illness which leads to a lot of the problems we have in the first place. While it's easy to look at someone and say "that's an able bodied person, they should get a god damned job" but it's not so easy to see that that person may have seen their mother murdered at the age of 5 or they suffer from schizophrenia or manic depression...

I find it ironic that the president who cut funding for mental health study and research got hit with alzheimers....

I would also like to buy the world a coke and sing in perfect harmony...

Clusterfuck Nation

AlienQ - BANNED FOR LIFE 09-13-2003 11:24 AM

Bush is a war criminal and needs to be stripped of his presidential duties and handed over to the United Nations to be tried as a War Criminal.

The Poll should Read...

Neocon instead of Republican. Not even real Republicans support this latest American Dictator.

Third.

I'm not hardline. I believe in some social programs, but for the most part I want my government to keep people from hurting each other, keep people from taking each other's stuff, and make roads and that is about it. I believe in fiscal and social freedom.
