Subconsciously, you knew the man was on his way out, but shit... I always thought he'd live forever.

Johnny Cash transcended all music genres...

He was one of the old school country guys I listened to along with Waylon and Willie, Kris Kristopherson, Eddie Rabbit, Johnny Lee Horton, Marty Robbins, Roy Clark (probably the most talented muscian on the planet), Hank Snow, etc.

You should give some of these other guys a listen...they aren't as great as Johnny, but they'll give you a new look at old music and songwriting...

Yeah, I know Roy Clark is extremely talented. What about George Jones? I tend to like some songs by him as well.
