FDLE Investigation Finds No Laws Broken In Naked Kid Videos

LAND O'LAKES -- A state investigation has concluded a nudist who sold videos of naked elementary-age girls didn't break the law.

Walt Zadanoff, former president of the country's largest nudist organization, said he is satisfied with his exoneration by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement but his reputation has been ruined.

Gov. Jeb Bush's office ordered an investigation of Zadanoff after U.S. Rep. Mark Foley, R-West Palm Beach, lambasted the 68-year-old nudist for peddling videos on the Internet of naked child beauty pageants shot in Europe.

Law enforcement authorities told the governor because the videos show no sex, they are legal.

"As much as we look at his activities with a little bit of disdain, there are no Florida statutes Mr. Zadanoff violated,'' said Rick Morera, spokesman for the state investigators' Tampa office.

Foley wants the law to change. He has sponsored a bill called the "Child Modeling Exploitation Prevention Act'' that would outlaw the videos Zadanoff sold.

Just because the state cleared Zadanoff doesn't mean he's not exploiting children, Foley spokesman Chris Paulitz said. Foley himself called the videos, which feature full-frontal nudity, a "fix for pedophiles.''

Fearing bad publicity, nudist groups, including some of the clothes-free resorts that are Land O'Lakes' biggest industry, have suggested Zadanoff stay away.

Zadanoff has maintained the videos are "information and entertainment for a legitimate nudist,'' though he said it's impossible to screen pedophiles from buying.

ok, how about all these mothers that drag their small children to these non-nude beauty pagents... That too is child exploitation and should be stopped. I have seen some pretty disturbing documentrys on this subject....

There is nothing wrong with the human body... we should all be free enough to shed our outer skin and walk around as mother nature meant us to be if we desire.

In the information age, I actually think this sort of thing needs to be limited. Once upon a time, a mom could take a bearskin rug photo of her baby and it was grody and likely to be embarrassing later in life, but it was unlikely that large numbers of people would be paying to jerk off to it. Why would someone want to buy a video of a naked childrens pagent? Its not impossible to weed out the pedophiles wanting it, anyone who wants it is probably a pedo.

If it was a documentary type subject, maybe. If it was a documentary of the nudists themselves, not focusing on the children, that I can understand. But, not naked kids.

Some thing that i don´t understand is the popular belief that by banning pictures that could be attractiv to people who likes to harm children would make those people (and their deeds) disappear. What you can´t see will do you no harm....

I just can't imagine an auditorium full of adults parading their kids naked on stage and thinking that's a good thing.

So was this video JUST a child video pageant or an overall nudist video? I mean it's one thing if it's a video of a nudist resort and they happen to have a beauty pageant, it's another if it's just a video of a child beauty pageant. With the first one there could be legit interests but come on, what else would anyone buy a pageant video for?

Nudity, and child nudity per se, do not make for an illegal act. Selling access to pictures of underage nude children is not illegal in this country under the current federal laws. Selling them for prurient interests could be construed as breaking the law but these cases don't make it to court when there are so many real instances of the law being broken.

Personally I don't agree with it at all. From the standpoint of the first amendment and the law, it is legal.

Saying there outta be a law will just get you in trouble later on, since believe me, there are plenty of people who think there outta be laws against everything we do.

There has to be a line somewhere and for me, it's the difference in legal and not. The minute they make nudist stuff illegal, I hope it gets shut down, turned off and never comes back. Until then, it's not something I'll be looking at but I am not going to dispute the right to its existence.

Thoughts aren't crimes, actions are. So if a guy buys a video and has illicit thoughts while watching it, that's his right. If he chooses to act on those thoughts, then he's broken the law. This is no different than buying a movie where someone blows up a building or walks into a bank and mows down everyone in sight with an automatic weapon.

I think that is seriously one of the only topics which brings out the they-oughtta-legislate in me. Most of the time, I really think we need fewer laws, but I also do think we need unambiguous laws in order to have a free society. People should know whether they are breaking the law. It should not be up to the randomness of unpredictable local authorities after the fact.

That said, a typical nudist credo would be that nudity is natural and not intrinsically sexual. What would real nudists be doing making their kids compete for who has the most beautiful body? Part of the point of nudism is not feeling self-conscious about your own body. I totally respect nudists' right to do what they do, but having their kids do it competitively seems awfully suspicious to me.

Amelia -- in clothes, out of clothes, beauty pageants are brutal to kids.

I've mentioned before, we had a show at the Venetian one summer and the hall next to us had some kind of kids competition -- little girls in full makeup, spandex outfits and high heeled tap and dance shoes.

Had I been one of the parents, I'd have left the fucking thing immediately when I saw the porn crowd go by. Not because they were the porn crowd but because the outfits and the makeup were identical to the kids in the competition for the most part.

OK, I have no problem if adults want to prance around nude at at these campgrounds. But I'm sorry, little girls should NOT be competing on a stage completely naked in a pageant with an auditorium full of adults getting off on it. That is just fucked up wrong and totally perverse. Preteen childreen have no understanding about sexuality and I guarantee the majority if you asked them when they are older whether that was right or wrong would be upset about it looking back.

Nudist camps are like any other camps, but people are naked( pretty obvious...). They play sports naked, go to the corner store naked ( makes me remember a Seinfield episode where Helen says she is always naked..lol), do their cleaning naked.. and so on. Nothing sexual and in fact very family oriented.

It is normal that they have pageants of all sort.

What is wrong in this situation is that an indiividual tapes those precise events and then distribute them outside the camp circle. This is where the depravity comes in.

Did you see the interview on 60 minutes like 2 years ago? society was blowing cp so fucking out of proportion back then. one man came home from work and his two daughters decided to "moon daddy". the father took a picture of this perfectly innocent act and it turned out that the lady who worked at the film store saw them when developing them, and reported it to the police. the man ended up getting jail time, he was ridiculed all over his town for being a pedophile, and basically lost every ounce of dignity he had. he cried uncontrollably on 60 minutes, saying "these are my children - i bathe them, i clothe them, i cant ever imagine having any sexual thoughts with my own children".
