Masking affiliate codes on links?

I've done this out of habit for a long time, but does it really make a difference? I just had to take it off a paid listing because it was deceptive. I've never had links read my full affiliate code before in Adult, I just know it helped my mainstream conversions alot to mask it with the site url, no code. Do you guys notice a difference in click throughs?

I feel it helps. I mean if you're pushing "cuteteens.com" and they hover over your link and it says "blah blah.ccbill.com?4984938494" i think some would get discouraged, esp with popups being rampant across sites.

I was astounded I had to unmask everything... is this just one guy or do more tgp'ers do this?

Yeah, I think the real links can often be more deceptive. It is not deceptive at all masking them and saying exactly where the surfer will end up if he clicks the link! I would not buy listings from that guy again if I were you!

I have to remove mouseovers to get listed on pichunter and cliphunter. I still make sales with the galleries that get listed, but I wonder if the click ratios would be higher if I had the mouseovers.

They send a ton of hits, but the click thru ratio is definetaly lower.
