Dear Islam:

It's been awhile, but I see the game remains the same: Iraq, Indonesia, India, and, of course, Israel. And that's only the places starting with I! I don't know what to make of that pattern, but I will advise staying out of Indiana.

I just wanted to let you know how I've been uncomfortably numb for most of the day. I gave an acquaintance a lift to the bus station this sunny morning, and she confided in me that we were attacked because Bush was in the White House. I was speechless. I can only wonder how many others across the world buy into that.

However, I was reminded that Western Civilization blenches the moment it starts treating you like an adult. The moral relativism excuse train pulls into more stations than usual just to make sure your fragile, little self-image is not tarnished. I guess everyday people just find it too incredible that there really are a bunch of international thugs and malcontents on the loose trying to turn back the clock.

I'm going to have to get back to work but just wanted to leave you with one more thought. As far as I can tell, you are the spiritual equivalent of a petulant special education student, and without the equivalent of Reformation you will always be thus.

Drop me a line when you start getting your act together.

People really don't realize that Islam has not had time to come to maturity in society, and break away from being a theocracy. In about 500 to 1000 years more....it'll be fine

Cluck, christians don't even get along with other christians and they have the same god. Just the fact that they need like 50 flavours of christianity contradicts the togetherness that it's supposed to bring.

Nice to see that the Catholics are slightly dipping into their gold vault to redistribute some of that money they stole from their own people to cover up their own stupid mistakes.

Think of this - sell one fucking statue, painting, or rug in the vatican, feed a small country for a long time. If a monet or rembrandt or whatever can get a million bucks, how much would a thousand year old statue fetch?

Yes, but the point that Buff was talking about was that there was a time in Christianity when the goverments were Theocracies.....Divine right of kings, etc, etc.....until the reformation started to change that.

That same process has yet to happen with Islam. There hasn't been enough time for it to get to that stage yet.

You mean the current muslim nations that have democracy, secularity, people elected parliement, coalition governments etc will go through a stage of theocracy?

Of course there are Muslim nations that are not theocracies, but there are plenty that are, both on national levels and the local, city levels. How many countries are ruled by Christian or Jewish religious dictators or councils?

Women get raped and then stoned. Fathers behead their daughters on the suspicion that their daughters were molested. Children blow themselves up to murder women and other children, at the behest of their parents. And it goes on and on.

Don't pretend like Islam is not in the stone ages. They issue a death sentence if you write something critical of the religion e.g. Satanic Verses. Hell, they even have a word for a sentence of death: Fatwah.

Islam is struggling hard to integrate into modern society. In fact, they are doing their best not to integrate. They are at war with everyone they come in contact with, Jews and Christians, Atheists, Buddhists, Hindus, other Muslims, Indians, Russians, Americans, Israelis, Turks, North Africans, Indonesians, Moroccans, Chinese, Serbs, and on and on.

Don't apologize for them.

Muslims are religious fanatics. A hundred times more than Christians. Most christians for example do not get on their knees and pray 5 times every day. Most christians are way more liberal.

The two cultures are natural born enemies. Nothing will change that. The battle will go on into the next millenium if we make it that far.

The tragedy is that Islam was the saviour or the western world. While the Catholic church was destroying knowledge in the name of god during the dark ages, Islam had a golden age. Most of the recorded knowledge of the west we have was saved by the arabs.

How could the most enlightened people in the world regress while the rest of the world progressed?

You are simply blind enough to see Islam as the source of the corruptness in those countries.
You are ignoring issues like education, unemployment, economic struggle and west-controlled dictators.

Religion is being a tool not a cause. OPEN YOUR EYES!

This is indeed the amazing part. Islam was the religion of science and enlightenment - they were masters of mathmatics, astronomy, etc.... They preserved many of the old texts from the Greeks and Romans.... all of this while Europe was in the dark ages...

I did not say it's your fault. But western leaders are greatly involved in this by using dicatator puppets to control uneducated masses in those countries.

That was not my point though. Instead of picking on a single word in my post, why don't you read it throughly and give me your opinion about this:

Religion is a tool not a cause. And i can even tell that there is a much higher % of americans who would wish the middle east was carpet bombed than the % of muslims that wish another 9/11 happens.
It is not part of the religious evolution that some of those countries are fucked up right now. It's because the current power distribution in the world is way off-balance and the leaders of the 1st world are working to keep it that way.

I have never, ever seen people in the US dancing in the streets when civilians are being killed anywhere in the world. It doesn't happen.

Islamic people ALL OVER THE WORLD were out celebrating, singing, laughing, and dancing in the streets when buildings were falling on a bunch of ordinary people. Not all of them....obviously it was just a small number.....but wow...was that sick or what? It doesn't do much to back up YOUR statement.

Religion is outdated.

It is for the weak, the traditionalists and the uneducated.
