E-Mails are circulating with an official looking Microsoft layout instructing users to run the attached urgent security update patch for the flaw that was in the news, but it actually contains a virus.

why would you intstall a patch from microsoft if it wasn't on the microsoft.com website?

I certainly wouldn't, but most people don't understand that e-mails can be spoofed and they think its really something they have to do right away if it looks official.
