I have a strange fascination with WWII, Hitler, and the Nazi's. Very interesting period of time. I love watching movies about it, Nuremberg was a good movie, I thought.

Hitler wasn't as smart as people think. He was surrounded by brilliant people. His generals were geniuses. It was only when Hitler stopped listening to his generals that Germany started losing the war. Joseph Goebells, Hitler's propoganda minister, was also a genius and it was his propaganda machine that made the German people follow Hitler so fanatically. There were many other brilliant people like this behind the German war machine. Hitler was a great orator, probably one of the best ever, but that was about it.

Brilliance does not mean he was a good man. Germany was absolutely shattered after the first world war. Hitler turned a country that was rubble, in debt, and morally destroyed, into one of the most powerful nations on the planet in the time it takes most politicians to sign off on a few laws.
