How to use Google AdWords

I would like to try to market our sites with Google, however the google explanation of AdWords is numbing me.

Does anyone here have helpful links explaining Google AdWords?

All help is appreciated!

testing it out the last few days and there isnt all that much traffic coming in either...
It isnt all that complicated, just login make a campaign they even have a "guide" to go thru the steps.

The only thing that puzzles me is when do i pay?

lol...it seems that they invoice you if im not mistaken.
I will have to wait and see but so far i have not seen much traffic wize.

:2 cents:

Hmm... It would seriously surprise me if they would trust people on the net and invoice them. Maybe that's why you didn't get much traffic from them - Maybe you have to fund your acct with money?

But seriously people... there's gotta be somebody that made a good tutorial about this.

Toss out all common sense, stock up on asprin and prepare for the an ordeal that is harder than getting your prom date and her best friend to have a threeway with you without alcohol.

this is VERY close to being a 100% accurate description of the nightmare that is Google Adwords...

most big PPCs are crap these days imo...

it's best to just tie a piece of paper with your fucking url to a brick and throw it in people's houses....

I do this every morning on my newspaper route ;-)

:thumbsup :thumbsup

Adwords is such a pain in the ass, every day they come back to you and ask you to change the descriptions and or key words. Fucking brutal!!!

Adwords is difficult to work with, I'll give you that, but like anything out there, you need to distinguish yourself. Don't promote the same site over and over that all other adwords people have used and niche as much as you can. Be very targetted on your ads or you'll end up at a loss. Realize that there are lots of adwords out there so they *are* making money. It's just your turn to tweak the ads to be profitable as well. There's quite a learning curve to be had but it is obviously profitable to use adwords if all these other people are using them...

The IRS is easier to deal with and more consistent then Google Adwords so I hope that gives you an idea as to their system.

Adwords is really simple, it's just hard to navigate at first. For a huge company they don't have a very practical navication system for adwords.
