Where are you going? Heaven or Hell.
 

You know that whole Christian idea of heaven? Sounds kind of boring, doesn't it? What is supposed to be motivating about it? I prefer Earth with the struggles and the difficulties to overcome.

I don't think there is a "Heaven" or a "Hell" that we go to once we die - I used to, but not any more.

My dad use to spank me when I was a child and afterwards, ask me if I was sorry for whatever transgression I had done. I always said yes because that's what I knew he wanted to hear but truth be told, I wasn't sorry I did it.. I was sorry I got CAUGHT !

Now either love and worship me or burn in hell for ever! What kind of choice is that???? Certainly one you can't freely make.

What kind of God would make you choose with that hanging over your head?

Self preservation is something we all have inside us and I don't think man is able to make a free choice to in an "either or" environment

at this juncture in time i dont really care whether i go to heaven or hell, lets be honest im just gonna be a rotting mound of bones and flesh sat in a wooden box in some cemetary somewhere :Graucho

Either way It's going to suck more then it does here I bet. Hell will suck way more, heaven will suck a little more. IMHO

I prefer the Jehova's Witness concept in this regard...no fire & brimstone shit...

no hell, no eternal pain, etc...just either you live in the groovey garden/afterlife/earth....or you merely cease to exist...

chemistry class told me that in chemical formulas that 'all energy must be conserved'...meaning that you can't take

some energy and make it disappear, it just goes somewhere...

so if our bodies that contain some sort of energy, turn into even just 'potential energy' as fertilizer, than that's an ok enough definition of an afterlife for me ;)

personally I'd like to just be tossed in the ocean to let some fish eat me up....someday I'll be inside the shark meat that's roasting on a grill and someone else can EAT ME :)

If somebody told you that in order to get into heaven, you would have to believe and do everything Charles Manson told you to do... would your attitude be "better safe than sorry"?

It DOES hurt to believe in things that you don't know or understand. If everyone were to fill the holes in their knowledge with unfounded beliefs, there would be no more progress... no more learning, or advancing. Seems to me like there could be no greater harm to society than that.
