Do you save for Retirement?

Do you save for retirement? Do you put money away in case one day there is no more money coming in? I am just curious....

Jakke PNG 09-06-2003 08:35 AM

No. I don't make enough to save.

..although my mom used to say,

"There's never income too small to save a bit, nor is there an income large enough to spend it all"

Bad translation, but you get the point. I'm a spender.

If you put the the price of a coffee and a muffin away each day, you would be very surprised to find out what that could accumulate to in fifteen to twenty years.

Yeah but for those of us who like our coffee and muffin's, that's a big sacrifice... :)

RRSP's are not only a great tax write off but the only way I can save. The bank takes money out every 2 weeks.

Joe_Blow 09-06-2003 11:14 AM

Yes, as much as I can. I want to be on my boat in 11 years.

What's retirement?

You should have a minimum of 6 months overhead saved, but a 1 year cookie jar is safer.
