Speed traps

I just now saw on the Factor...that the AAA has put up hugh warning signs outside of two Florida towns...warning motorists that the towns are operating speed traps.

:thumbsup to the AAA.

The State of Ohio is in process of revoking the 'Village' status of New Rome, Ohio for this very thing. lol They have operated a speed trap since the early 60's. The new mayor ordered the police chief to fire the officers before this ever really got started. They would have 10+ cars pulled over at a time in their '25' mph zone when state law dictated it was a 35 mph zone. lol

Seems they have like 800 people or less in their so called 'village' and it spanned less than 1/4 mile of highway. But they drew $490,000.00 per year from just speeding tickets. lmao

Sad to say, the cruisers were vandalised after the Police dept disbanned.

Here in Jersey I see at least 3 people busted in speed traps a day. Sometimes you can see 5 or 6 cars lined up in a row. They're usually at the bottom of 25mph hills where people coast and get up to 40. The pigs sit behind a tree or something and pick people off all day.

No wonder I've got 12 points on my license :glugglug

in my area on a pretty big street, the limit was 70km/h, and on the opposite side was written 50, no one ever noticed until this girl got a ticket, and went to court and proved it, and everyone who had a ticket on that side of teh street for a certain time back (like 2 years) got a check back for the amount or something

Its called the "1 mile club"

If the speed limit is 25 mph and if your going down a hill at 26 you get pulled over. The town has its own court system and postal office..Even though its in Orange county area...

O'rielly pointed out to the AAA spokesman that there are undoutedly many speed traps in the nation and asked if the AAA was going to persue this matter further and he stated that when it was brought to their attention they would. So all of you that are aware of towns operating speed traps should bring it to the attention of the AAA.
