Just a little awhile ago Calif. Governor Gray Davis signed a bill to allow all illegal aliens in CA to be able to take the test to receive a valid driver's license. A valid form of ID !!! WTF??

So, we are now going to have illegal aliens with a valid Calif ID in our lovely state.

Oh and this also means since they will be having valid driver's licenses' now, they will have to have insurance. Yea right, like that is going to happen. Gee, I wonder who will be paying for that?

Once I was the first car at a stop light, and there was an accident right in front of me. Sure enough, the car that caused took off. I chased the fucker to the other side of town and ran him off the road, and held him until the cops came. Sure enough, guess what - He was Mexico, was driving a stolen car with no insurance.

(I got a little sticker badge for my actions!)

Well, I would have thought the same thing. Why would they go and get themselves a license and make themselves known, but today when they showed all the 1000's of them rallying around the Governor and cheering him on, it was.....well unreal! So, its 'seems' as though yes, they are wanting the right to get a driver's license. Whether they follow through with it and actually take the test or not I don't know.

btw- they also were only showing this on spanish TV, no english. They did not want "us" to know he was signing that today. I was listening on talk radio where they were interpreting it all.

i agree with his decision. if they dont have a drivers license every single one of them will drive with no insurance. now at least some of them will have insurance. it was a great decision.

Ya need proof of insurance to get a license in California anyways. So 100% of them will at least have insurance for the first month.

Every additional illegal who gets a drivers license also will have insurance for the first month.

From there they will either not remain covered or will do so to avoid getting pulled over and getting in trouble with the law and have their ass deported for not being able to show proof of insurance.

As for Davis, some of you all really under estimate this guy. Davis has to be one of the most machiavellian politicians when it comes to running for office. At no time can you rule this man out, I can assure you that. Then when it comes to winning I would still place my money on him if I was the betting type.

It breaks the whole predicate for Illegal Alien.

Basically I suppose getting a liscense an Illegal Alien becomes recognised and thus in effect has the potential to have a case for citizenship when confronted by the INS.

Basically why is the State of California recognising Illegal Aliens in the first place, it does not make them so illegal really after this new twist that fucking moron in Sacramento signed off on today.

I said the same thing before. No matter who wins in CA from now on they will be recalled and this poor state will have Govenors who are constantly campaigning instead of being a Govenor. That is until the state constitution is changed.

Indiana and 4 other states have this law where mexicans are allowed to go work in those 5 states with their mexican papers!! No american papers needed!

You have that option, its called voting them out of office come election time, or if they do something illegal they can be impeached. At no time should it be possible for less people than those that voted a candidate into office to have their vote tossed out.

If we had to do recalls require that it be done only by people who actually voted in the last election, and not by mental midgets who got stoped coming out of 7-11 for their daily ho-ho fix. Then also require more signatures from those that actually voted for that candidate.

Even if you did have to show proof of insurance to get a license. Who is going to insure you before you have a driver's license?

They are not going to have insurance. They can go buy a fake proof of insurance card just as easy as they can get a fake id. They are not going to get deported for not having insurance. They don't get deported now for not having a driver's license.

The point is that they are going to have an official document, a valid form of ID when they are not even a US citizen

I live in California and I do not think that you have to have proof of insurance to obtain a drivers license as long as you have a clean driving record. You do have to have proof of insurance to register a car.

What is your concern with them having a valid ID?

First answer is any insurance agency you approach. I got my own policy when I turned 16. It was not under my parents or anyone else's. I got this policy right after I handed the insurance company a copy of my drivers permit and some cash. No it did not require that my parents sign it either, as I was imancipated already so I could sign contracts as an adult.

As for the fake proof of insurance. Doh I forgot the DMV does not speak with insurance agencies and vice versa. I must have called DMV last week to have them send me the sr22 form I just got today in the mail. Yup that is what happened, I relized my insurance expires in September and called DMV to remind them, just so they would offically tell me to renew.

You also can face deportation for comitting a crime in California. If they do not have a valid ID how would the police or courts even know who they really are, in order to deport them anyways? Kinda a catch 22.

Lastly it is humorously easy to obtain an official Government issued ID anyways. Only thing this does is make a legal way to do it. As it stands as long as the SSA gives out replacement cards to anyone with a copy of a birth certificate, or has people who will take cash under the table, anyone can get a valid SS#, a valid drivers license, medi-cal, medi-care, social security and more.

That is what I thought too. I have never had to show proof of insurance to renew my license.

It does say on there you have to "Provide proof of financial responsibility ".

If somehow having them have a form of ID that we could use to find out their idenitiy and deport them is what this is for, then GREAT! I don't think it is though.

It means proof of insurance basicly. You can either be insured in CA, or you can have a bond held that is valid for a certain sum of money and have no need to show insurance.

Not having to show it when you renew or register a car is one thing, it does not mean it is not legally required. Most often they do not ask like they should and use judgement. I for example have a clean driving records and get good driver discounts ect. Yet every time I have ever renewed my license they have made me take the written test again. Some of my friends have only taken it once, and others get it every 2nd or 3rd renew.

You also have to have proof of insurance to register a car...and I think if you allow the insurance to expire the DMV will suspend your license.

Because it allows any illegal alien (from anywhere, not just Mexico) to have a valid document to board planes, etc. using that id with no questions asked.

Then can you change the license from a Class C to say a Class A and go drive a gasoline truck?

As for boarding a plane...there is supposed to be "security" now.

It is still against the law to hire illegal aliens so I doubt that the DMV will be upgrading the drivers license...but who knows...maybe they will.

Tennessee allows anyone to get a driver's licence with no proof of legal residence in the US.
Along with 7 other States...
If the US government really wanted to seal off the Mexican border, they could easily do it....
So, why has no government done it? (Democrat or Republican)
Cubans get a green card has soon as they put 1 foot on US soil.
