how much do you pay your amatuer models?

Hi Guys,

I'm looking at the possibility of either shooting my own content, or getting a photographer friend to shoot for me.

Those who are in the know, please spam me with price ranges of what I can expect to pay models.

This is not for high quality stuff. I'm looking at shooting amatuerish content, softcore, female only. My search will likely be in the San Francisco area (I know, pretty expensive area but I have some connections there.)

Also, if anyone has an example of a model release form, and/or steps required to ensure title 18 compliance, I'd be very grateful. Of course, I'll be doing some research myself, but I'd still like to hear from the experts here.

Thanks for any help you're willing to dish out.

Chris

$50? haha.. you must of been shooting crack whores..

Edit: Btw... It all depends on how much you pay your models.. but between $600-800 for a days shoot is common.

I can hook you up with a model release just email me - I start paying $50 an hour working time (WORK TIME!) - it goes up depending on the shoot - if it's a adult celeb etc: - I take a close up of every model with social security card in one hand and the drivers license in the other.

:thumbsup

going rate is $100-$300/hour -2 to 4 hour minimum.

As someone else said, ask them what they think is fair, then give them half.

natch

you think?

I'm looking at nothing fancy. as I said, softcore mostly, partial or full nudity and a lot of it can be anonymous (ie: no face shots)

I'd like to think some sexually open over 18 girls might go for it, but who knows. Flakes, I'd like to avoid but I'm not too fussy.

Excellent tip. Thanks D-man and Mr. Vegas. none of these prices surprise me, so that's good.

It all depends, why pay so much when you are just doing 'regular' shoots in a small time frame?

Pick up some newspapers or weekly alternative mags and check out the going rates for your area.

As for the legal shit....Get an attorney before you fuck yourself and the rest of us too.

On average.. if the model has the looks and does everything (obviously less = less pay.. ie: no anal? less pay, etc) during the shoot.. around $500 for around half a day's work (4hrs or so).

D-man 09-02-2003 11:43 PM

I have paid as much as $300 an hour but not for any ho that answers a city paper ad -

You guys are kidding me, right? Your talking about amatuer models here. These are girls who would otherwise be working at Burger King.

$100 an hour. Tops.

I agree, 75-100 should be acceptable.

Of course, you also have to look at where he is shooting. San Fran is expensive, probably not as bad as LA, but still bad.

But, why offer 300 when 100 would be okay?

Mutt 09-03-2003 01:05 AM

depends where you are. bet outside L.A. u could get a girl for $200-300 a day, i'm sure some girls even less.

L.A. girls get $500 per day for Penthouse style solo shoot, includes no video. $300-350 for half day. Some get more.

Victor-E 09-03-2003 01:12 AM

I live in Phoenix and I pay my couples $300 for a shoot. But most of the time they agree to the first shoot as a test shoot for $100.

You'll have better luck with better looking models if you offer $500 to $800 per days work and get 2-3 good shoots out of it.

Come to Poland!
$50 for half a day - Maximum!

DeadFidel 09-03-2003 03:35 AM

I advertise $150 an hour pay. I take about 600 pictures in about 30 minutes, so the answer is...$75:Graucho

spooky181 09-03-2003 04:29 AM

I thought amateur meant they weren't getting paid. I suppose the fact that Wendy, who my site revolves around does not get paid makes it even more real. :)

Although I just realized she does get a cut of profits, so I suppose it all evens out the same :( I shall STFU

Spooky
