ok, so i was taking a break from work and decided to wander around outside for a while for some fresh air. i open the door and as soon as i step out, i notice this crazy nasty smell. kinda like a fuel smell, almost kerosene-ish. whatever it was, it smelled quite flammable. so, i'm thinking wtf and wander out front. i don't see anything right away, but i hear kindof a "rrrrrrrrrrrr" like a small 2-cycle motor. didn't really think much of it, but then down the street are some insanely bright orange flashy lights. so i watch to see what's up, and this goofy little truck rolls by with a big pipe sticking out the back pouring smoke off it. i figure this is the source of the smell.

but it strikes me as kinda odd. now i don't watch a ton of news or anything, but i haven't heard _anything_ about something like this. and i've lived in the city limits for about 10 or so years collectively, and never heard or witnessed anything like this. i assume it's bug spray, but wtf?? they still do this kinda thing in the states? i thought that went out with the 50's and the whole DDT problem.

now i'm really curious to find more about this. maybe they just decided they don't like my neighborhood and want to put up a strip mall so they're trying to kill us all. either way, it's kinda freaky :(

that's my best guess, didn't get a real close look at the truck, but it looked pretty new and shiny. not a model i've seen in the city lineup before, so it must be a new program.

still, anything that smells like that can't be good for anything living. and i didn't hear a reduction in night bug noises while i was outside, either.

this strikes me as odd because my ex isnt affiliated with my sites, my name isnt on my sites, and my parents have a different last name. the only person with my parents # is my ex and the government.

They do that in Florida from low flying planes to kill mosquitoes. When the anthrax scare happend and it came out that the terrorists were trying to buy an agricultural spraying plane it really freaked people out see smoke coming out of these little planes lying overhead at night.

Scary stuff. It still worries me. Who's really protecting the bug spraying planes? You could grab one in a heartbeat and spray the whole coast with biological weapons.

Try living on the Chesapeake Bay for nigh on 20 years - you get used to 'em. Just go inside, close the windows, and if you've got a window air conditioning unit, turn it off for a few hours (otherwise it will pull the smell into your house).
Central A/C filters out the smell, thank god.

ugh. no, there's a place in south dakota i believe that's mosquito capitol of the world. they are _no joke_, they're thicker than the air. made the mistake of spending a day or two there. 50 mosquito trucks per block couldn't drop those fuckers.
