My browser has been hijacked - HELP!

Not only your browser!

Scoobs 09-02-2003 06:44 PM

No idea what happened there... here is my message:

Every time I try going to thehun.com al4a.com or many other porn sites (even my own) my browser redirects to a Nasty Dollars site.

Anyone got any ideas for me?? This is starting to really give me the shits.

Cheers!

ive had this exact same thing happen to me but i was getting redirected to a shitty tgp

And these are webmasters.. imagine all the non-webmasters who deal with this crap. I review till I'm blue..and I still end up with people catching shyt from sites and of course they blame the site they contract it from (ie..the one they can't reach).

49thParallel 09-03-2003 09:10 AM

I still think 12Clicks should run a adware, spyware, trojan advice column. His company, Standard Internet is responsible for a surprizingly large amount of the crap infecting computers everywhere.

49thParallel 09-03-2003 09:26 AM

P.S. 12Clicks...
The FTC isn't laughing anymore...
Pity you had to go to the effort of changing the registrant info for stopannoyingpopups.com - a known and documented spreader of trojans and browser exploits - to reflect the true owner - Standard Internet (hmmm..strange, in another post you claimed this domain was in no way associated with your company) - only to have the domain locked and put on hold by the registrar. Boy wonder how that happened?

Ask 49thparallel, I'll bet the nasty dollars affiliate id is his.:1orglaugh

brand0n 09-03-2003 10:20 AM

adware6 will kill most of that stuff, search download.com for it

Failed Deflection technique #1 - keep practicing Ron...you are still a little weak on the comeback.

And yes, the battle has just begun. Today you can switch your trojans to hotbar, or maybe reactivate one of your other domains "which aren't in anyway associated with Standard Internet"...but I will be right behind you every step of the way. Get ready for the ride...deflections won't help you in this battlefield.

Great! Next on the agenda...clickheretofind.com. You know the trojans and exploits...I know the avenues to insure that this domain receives the same treatment as stopannoyingpopups.com.
Better get used to the terms: Registrar Lock, Registrar Hold & Domain removed from DNS. You are going to be hearing this a lot in the next while.

P.S. could you explain again how stopannoyingpopups.com was not in anyway associated with Standard Internet?

um, I'm not sure what alternate universe you're living in today but thinking you can *insure* anything except poor performance in your day job is laughable.

hehe, if believing that helps you get through the day, I won't interfer with your happiness by explaining the truth to you. :1orglaugh

Zoltar, I never explained that a first time, idiot. SI has sold advertising to stopannoyingpopups.com for months. If I'm going to stay here and play with you, the least you can do is get your facts strait.
its not like you've got anything else to do.:1orglaugh

49thParallel 09-03-2003 11:13 AM

Nice try...deflection isn't your best attribute, is it.

But just to add fuel to the fire...here is the latest information available by internic, in response to my complaints to the FTC. (And yes, be rest assured, this was a direct result of my complaints).

Domain Name: STOPANNOYINGPOPUPS.COM
Registrar: TUCOWS, INC.
Whois Server: whois.opensrs.net
Referral URL: http://www.opensrs.org
Name Server: NS.SERVINT.COM
Name Server: NS2.SERVINT.COM
Status: REGISTRAR-LOCK
Status: REGISTRAR-HOLD
Updated Date: 29-aug-2003
Creation Date: 22-jan-2003
Expiration Date: 22-jan-2004

Registrant:
Standard Internet
303 Lipincott Dr.
Suite 220
Marlton, NJ 08053
US

Funny...stopannoyingpopups.com IS now registered to Standard Internet. (Haven't I been saying that for months now). And it is Locked and ON Hold and has been removed from the DNS by Servinc.

Blow smoke all you want Ron. If only you and I know the truth...that's enough for me.
