30 free dvd's and free dvd player...WTF???
I was over on Consumption Junction and saw an ad on the front page for http://www.30freedvds.com/index.php . Well, I started adding the free dvds to the cart. I notice in the lower left hand corner that the total was like $87.90 after 6 dvd's. They claim you have to pay just shipping. Are they delivering the dvds in a big fat caddy or what??? They also claim they'll give you a free dvd player, too. Kinda funny that everything is on that one frontpage including billing. No SSL, either. BE AFRAID!! BE VERY AFRAID!!
:helpme :helpme |
Seems like that if you click the confirm botton they charge your creditcard for the full amount.:Graucho If you hit reload a few times it adds up realy fast:)

Your order is subject to a $5.95 shipping and handling fee per DVD and a one time shipping insurance charge of $4.00
:1orglaugh Make sure you get that insurance on the free DVDs. It comes out to cost $9.95 each. |
Wait, isn't this the industry of "free" 30 minute trials that pop your card in 30 seconds and Credit card "for age verification only" that pops your card for $39.95 in the first 30 seconds? And you're complaining about over-inflated shipping and handling? Not specifically aimed at the posters here, but come on guys, isn't that the pot calling the kettle black?

There's a difference. How many people will tell someone else "Damn it! I wanted to jerk off last night so I used my credit card to verify my age and they charged me $35 before I even unzipped!" But using trickery for anything else, and word travels fast. Not to say it is ok to do that, and I never have, but there is a difference. People keep their sexual activities private. Our scams will last longer than yours. :winkwink: |
First, this isn't ours. It's an advertiser that paid us for a Home Page Editorial. Second, and most importantly, if you go to most of the DVD e-tailers out there they're going to charge you the same damn thing for shipping and handling and charge you $39.95 for the DVD itself.
This is no scam. You're told up front how much the shipping and handling is. A SCAM is when you're told you won't be charged and you are (babenet ring a bell?). I'm outta here. Anyone else that feels the need to discuss this can email me at [email protected]. I apologize, but I'm going to spend my time working instead of crabbing about minor shit on a board. If you guys really want to make the industry a better place, why not concentrate all your brilliance and righteousness on something that's really hurting the biz like kiddie/beastie/fradulentcharges etc? Hugs and Kisses, |
