Who have you had a great experience with in this business? Amazingly even though this is the "adult entertainment business" (And all the stereotypes that go along with that) .... i've had the good furtune of dealing with some really great people over the past few years. I know alot of bullshit goes on in this business as well, but what is to be expected out of 18 & 19 year olds who just got into the business, sure you get a thorn in your side from time to time on a bad deal, or a bad taste in your mouth from an unprofessional person, but overall i've got to say there are some real class people out there. The type of people that you end up flying out to cancun to have drinks with just for the hell of it, ya know?

So who are some companies & reps out there that you've had a great experience with?

Escortbiz. When I was just getting started and totally clueless he gave me some good tips (like Hun galleries) that helped jumpstart sales.

Course, later on he totally stole my whole site concept for erotic mainstream spanking, but I'm still kicking his ass with my site so I guess I can't complain. :thumbsup

Companies (ie anything over 1 guy) I only have business relationships with although a huge thumbs up to one of my current hosts - reliableservers.net. Nice people and very helpful if you ever need any help.

Individuals are a different matter. There's several people I have become friends with despite never having met in person and some I've become even better friends with and have met in person. These few people I would and have trust with a lot including my money and have never yet had that trust backfire. When I get the spare cash and time (time's always the biggest bitch to find) I'll be taking around 18 hours worth of flights just to have a beer with one of them. Needs to be done! :)

joe holler, fantasyman, james buffet, the guy from transvestiteteasers.com is what really made me see the light... i forget his named ashamedly enough... but he was one of the first epoch recurring affiliate programs and he gave me access to his stats one day and when i saw $5,000 a day going to his account, i almost shit myself, opened up my own program, and make a mint from it.... (back then it was a cakewalk)...

thx to everyone i didnt mention, i had alot of help.... i've found through all the help and advice you get from different people... sort thru it... take what u think is the best info... put it together, then think of something nobody else has using the knowledge you've learned fron inside sources, and do it up.... and if you cant do it with a brand new idea, i think it was fantasyman who once said (he'll probably argue it though) 'if you can't come up with a great moneymaking idea, be the second or third person riding someone else's coattails and you'll still make a fortune'...

I've met more honest, hardworking people in porn than in any other industry. I shit you NOT!

I was just about to go into a tirade about how crooked mainstream businesses are and saw this post.

Guys you can always count on in this biz are guys like Cyber-Age Dave, Cyber Age Gary, Mike at XCITE.NET, Uncle, Ray at webmasterguide, Rhino, and a host of others.

I've only done business with a few people on this board so far and we're getting used to each other and in time we'll have a rhythm going and long term business I hope.

You can scream all ya' want but I've got the legal papers and stats to prove that the adult online biz is WAY more honest than any I've been in.

there are lots of good people in this biz... and even though it may seem daunting to weed out the scammers from the good people, it's not really hard at all. The cream always rises to the top. Keep your eyes and ears open, and don't always believe everything you read. Not everything is always as it may appear. I learned that my first month here, and since then, it's been pretty easy to spot the good people.

Spoken true!!! Guys who scam get pinched quick in this business. The ones that skirt around with lawyers often are their own demise.

There's been times where some of us got sick, had deaths in family, girlfriends split, dog bit the mailman and we've all cut each other lots of slack. I've even had other pornmeisters work together on legit stuff too like t-shirts, tv commercials, comics, etc. and we've had FUN!

You try that in mainstream comics, animation, news and see what it'll getcha'.

Can't say I fully understood everything they tried to tell me at the time, but it was definately nice to have someone willing to help.

There are just as many good as bad on a personal level for me...

Back when I started in this business I was fortunate enough to have Tommy (Bookmarks) and Nick@ilynx willing and eager to yell at me for as long as it took to get it into my head that the only thing this business is for is making money.

At different points in the business, different people come along and are instrumental in your forward progress, if you are truly moving forward.

If I had to finish my list just based on people that truly pushed me to do more than I was doing or to be better at it than I was when they pushed, I'd have to add Ken Lawson, Ron Cadwell, and Chris Mallick to my list. Odd to some but I'd also add Brad Shaw as well, since he certainly was a catalyst ;)

There are a ton of people I haven't mentioned that have been there for me on a personal level, but I'm talking strictly business in this thread.
