What is the best program to take screenshots of movies?
 
as in capture directdraw, opengl etc

right click, select properties, settings, advanced, troubleshoot, and turn acceleration all the way down. now, play the vid and use printscreen. then open photoshop/paint shop pro and ctrl_v or paste.

Pause the movie, minimize, then restore...then printscreen will work--for me anyway

Ahh..that is the only one I could find that works well with AVI's.
I don't know about mpeg's or wmv's.

Have you thought of trying a video editing program like the ones coded by Ulead? I am sure they will batch capture frames, I don't know how to do it, though.

Use wmp and turn off hardware acceleration.

option 2, open the file twice with 2 video players and then make a screenshot.
