Who here has a GARDEN in their backyards?

Anyone here growing a vegatable garden?

I got some really juicy tomatos this year, 1 weighs in at 1.5 pounds, lol.

If you have a garden, post a pic.

No pics right now but yes I do.

Oh yeah its in my side yard not backyard.

This year my tomato crop sucked balls, had a cold spell at just the wrong time.

Squash's are going insane like normal.
Onions grew fine will be ready to pick come fall.
Tomatillo's doing very well.
Eggplant's doing ok.
Peppers are doing great.
Carrots are doing well.
Earlier this year, my lettuce, cold herbs, radishes, asparagus, strawberries, and beats all did great.
Regular herbs all doing great.
Cucumbers got killed during that cold spell.
Horse radish is producing well.
Ginger is actually growing this year after tinkering last year.

Fall crops going in soon.

I have a garden.. i didnt flourish it this year... and didnt take any pics.. the only think left are the tomatos and strawberries...

i started with 5 strawberry plants that cost me $25.. they grow like weekd..so i am going to let them take over the whole garden then dig them up and make me about $1000 selling them to the nurseries..

It is not that easy. We have one of the biggest if not the biggest strawberry root growers in the nation based in my city. Odds are if you buy from a nursery in the US 8 out of 10 times it came from here.

There is lots of cold storage envolved ect.

Now I must know why in the hell did you pay 5.00 per plant? Shit you can pick up a flat of 48 here for under 20.00

Like I said, I ate the 1.5 pounder. It was barely ripe, couldnt resist..lol.

Here are a couple pics I just took, not as big as 1.5, but almost.

This should weigh in at a little under 1lbs

This one, I'd guestimate 1.1 - 1.2 lbs

i planted this perrenial wildflower mix in a pot. i killed most of the flowers that started to come up, except these two plants which kept growing. i repotted them a couple of times but they just got bigger and bigger. so last week, i dug a wee tiny garden so the could be in the ground. i also added another potted plant to make it look a little greener. it's not much, but it's my very first garden. you can see the two big plants on the left by the gnome:

ps: wow dopy. you really do live in paradise

i paid $5 a plant cause that was the price when i decided to buy them..was on a whim...didnt have to drive to cali to buy a flat..would have cost me much more in gas..lol

I have already contacted local nurserys around here...some are interested in buying the plants at a pretty fair price.. $.50 per plant...so we will see... Im going to let them go nuts for two more years...then sell them...

I have a garden as well, you wont see a pic because I sort of let it go after my accident. too many weeds. But its not a bad crop this yr but not as good as usual , too many wet sunless days. I have green peppers, lots of tomatoes, dill weed , sorell, zucchini, eggplant, cucumbers, squash , and pumpkins. I also have several fruit trees bordering the garden, which I planted 2 yrs ago. I love gardening, nothing like going out to pick a homegrown tomato and making a sandwich.:)

All of mine died this year. we are having an amazing amount of rain. We still have some tomatoes left, but they are small.

My grapes have done well, and we will be making wine in the next few weeks. also making some vinegar. Lots of vinegar.

but our best crop is grass.. Makes great hay and sells for 35-45 per roll.
