Holiday home in the Orlando area!!

Hey guys,

I am taking my lovely wife on a two week holiday to Florida and I am looking for a nice holiday home, I found myself a nice place for 500 USD a week:

http://www.villa-elke.sunflowerrentals.com/

Disadvantage of this house it the 2,5 hour distance to Orlando.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!!

That is not a good deal, looks like that house is far from anything. there are houses for rent 15 minutes from Disney's main gate, more than $500 I think but worth it. October is slow season here, you should be able to find some good deals.

Cheers Choker,

any sites you would suggest to look at?

For some reason I thought the same thing, I know the USA is way bigger then my country (Holland) but 2,5 hours is still a long drive :)

If you are only taking your wife and no kids, you really don't need a house. I mean if your wife is in the house all day long , does she really want to vacation in a house too? My suggestion is to go to disney.com and book your stay in the Disney hotels. Let them spoil you guys. You are looking at $200 a night easy, but the hotels in Disney themselves are a vacation. Here's what I would do......

1. Book 3 days at Universal Studious Portifino Bay hotel. You need 3 days to do Universal and Islands of Adventure.
2. Then transfer to Disney hotels. Spend like 4 days in each one, each has a different theme and lots to do in them. It's not just the theme parks. I take my kids to a Disney hotel every 2 months or so just to get pampered and get unstressed.

book 3 days at either the Yacht or Beach Club. Sand bottom swimming pools are awesome there. Great restraunts.

Then transfer to the Animal Kingdom lodge for 3 days. this is thier newest hotel and is awesome. It is bordered on their animal park, and lions, gazells, etc come right up into the hotel grounds.

Then wind it all up with 3 days at the Grand Floridian. Your wife will be thanking you for this hotel for many years to come. LOL

Forget the rental car you don't need it. Don't mean to sound like a travel agent, hahahaha

I live 5 mins from disney....I can tell you a 2bed/1bath house goes for 500-600 a week.

But the avg house size around disney is 500,000.00 +

Just because of location...if you go the other end in its like 500 a month but thats BFE..

Sounds nice!!

Choker, if you ever get bored of this business (I doubt it though) you could definately start a travel agency :winkwink:

If you go to Orlando be sure to check out Old Town and and go on the Big Swing they have there, it is like 300ft high and you drop to the ground very quick. The ride is very safe :)

Also take a look at http://www.skyventureorlando.com/

cheers, enjoy the holidays!

BTW - Cape Coral is WAY too far away from disney. You will be closer to Miami than Orlando. lol. Heck, it's a 3 hour drive for me to get to Cape Coral, and a 1.5 hour drive to orlando:-)

I'd go Chokers route, you'll spend a little more, but it will be MUCH more enjoyable!
The Portofino he recommends is an excellent hotel!

Okidoki, cheers guys!!

I would be helped a lot if one of you would be able to get me some ass kicking URL's where to look for holiday homes?

Florida? Ok.

I'd just as soon stay right here in the Rockies, where it's holiday no matter what season it is :)

I'll be skiing in 45 days or less. I'll be fishing until then. :)
