Why you think they shave ?!
 

I want to complete a post by another man that posted about sponsors shaving..
Well.. i don't say they shave or they don't, nor give names.. i just wonder..

If they shave, what are the reasons ?

Are they greedy ?!
The money they get after paying the affiliates webmasters are not enough to pay the bills and make some profit too ?!
Any other reason ?!

I dont think most shave, if ARS shaved you damn sure would have heard about it. The amount of webmasters who do test signups someone would have caught them by now.

The ones who shave just want x% more profit or they need to make up for chargebacks due to shitty cookie cutter sites.

I've never been able to prove anyone shaves but have always suspected certain programs.

That is not fair...
Some of webmasters are happy with few hundreds bucks a month, and some with even less... And they shave to make not 100k but 500k... or i dont know, more or less, depending of the sponsor..

Everyone shaves in some form or another.

Some sponsors have openly admitted to shaving in the past.

Others shave by having shitty stats systems others by having deliberately crappy designed sites.

from a 'statistical' standpoint i wont send traffic to ANY sponsor that has more than a 5-10% variance between MY traffic figures and THEIR stats system.

5-10% can be put down to a shit stats package.
15-20% can be put down to a REALLY SHITTY stats package.
25-30% can be put down to shaving - only dropped 4 sponsors in 2 years.

Can the affiliate programs that use 3rd party processors shave? or is just the ones that set up thier own programs.

Any program can shave, them using a third party doesn't mean shit. They somehow thing it's impossibe but whoever says that is full of it.

Anyone can shave.. there are many ways, and some are almost "legit"
Example. Some sponsor say that only traffic from certain countries will be counted.. so you will be paied only for that traffic...
The rest is redirected to dialer.. wich they make money from.. but you dont' get a dime.

Sure, if the third-party is actually owned by the program operator or you paid them a large sum of money to throw away their integrity.

That is why people should ALWAYS read the terms and conditions.

INTEGRITY. What a big word... i bet that the most honest webmasters in this business are the poorest ones same time..

Oh.. and by the way.. i belive that shaving is not legal also.. even if might not be mentioned in any law... but if some1 could ever prove that some ponsor is shaving.. i belive can sue it .. for stealing or for smth else..

Well I do remember a sponsor being caught, they were shaving over 40% and were exposed on this board.
